Well spotted, although 7-12-09 from Dec 1937 is a bit different again (but still has the "FULL-RANGE RECORDING" inscription). Anyway this one here doesn't fit the pattern as it has the blue color and the "ELECTRICALLY RECORDED" note, like the earlier Melotones released until March 1935.

Apparently, the later silver/blue Melotone labels read "FULL-RANGE RECORDING" between the scroll work at the top, and instead of the note "ELECTRICALLY RECORDED" in the middle, they say "MADE IN U.S.A. NOT LICENSED FOR RADIO BROADCAST." See the series of Melotone labels here.

More precisely: Melotone labels (I have a large collection of label images) were blue/silver until around March 1935 and again from September 1936 on. The blue-labeled 5-11-51 here was probably a later issue from 1936 or 1937, the original label should have been black (or dark green) and golden.

It rather looks like they had blue labels in the first years (from 1931 on) and again in the last years (ending around April 1938 anyway).

Thanks for the info on the Melotone label. I'd been wondering about the unusual catalog nr.s. Am I right in assuming that the silver/blue labels are later than the golden/black ones? When do they start to be used?

Definitely not "originally released" on Conqueror. Actually released on Melotone in Nov 1935, see cat# (first digit: 5 = year 1935, second block: 11 = month November). The Conqueror release was not before Nov 1935 but rather, as praguefrank suggests, in Dec 1935. Both labels belonged to the American Record Corporation (ARC) anyway.

Originally released in 1935 on Conqueror 8580 (source).
