fixbutte 28th Aug 2015		Sides flipped as advised, notes and xiphophilos' comment adjusted accordingly. The B-side title, "Shakin' The Africann", may be an intentional misspelling as it was already used on the master recording sheet (according to the Brunswick Records: New York sessions, 1927-1931 book by Ross Laird).



fixbutte 28th Aug 2015		"Song Of The Weeds" is better known as "Chant Of The Weed" which was also the original title until it was corrected on the sheet of the master recording. Weed meant marijuana anyway. Read on here: Songs Of The Vipers: Notes on the "grass" roots of jazz by Erik Wiedemann. And listen here: "Song Of The Weeds" was also the designated A-side. Brunswick marked the flip sides with a line under the catalog number, as seen here on the "Shakin' The Africann" side.
