| | We do enter Series names in the Title field here on 78 rpm World, for example New Rhythm Style Series on Parlophone (https://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/r753) and
Super Swing Music on Parlophone (https://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/r2910).
That said, I don't think we list unnumbered series in the title.
Examples from the Mercury Jazz Series:
https://www.45worlds.com/78rpm/record/8944us and

| | fixbutte,
There are no Mercury Jazz Series records that have been added on 45cat. If I was to "Add45" for any of the Clef (Jazz or Pop) series I would surely put that information in the "Title" section (on both 45cat AND 45worlds.
I guess I need to know exactly what kind of information belongs in the 45worlds "Title" area? For some reason you do not have that section available except through "Add Missing Info", whereas 45cat has a section for "Title" on the "Add45" page ... and I'm not exactly sure why 45worlds is different?
I am confused as to exactly what constitutes a "Title"? Does it only have to do with a "different" title of the song or songs as listed on the label vs sleeve? In that case there would be very few instances where "Title" would ever be used on 45worlds... |

| | Not sure of your logic - there doesn't seem to be a difference between 45cat and 45world yet. For example, there are several Clef records from the same Jazz Series on 45cat, and none of them is listed with this title. Some series on 45cat were considered to be so strong so that they were added as "labels" though, e.g. Atlantic Jazz Series. |

| | fixbutte,
Not sure of your logic? The way I look at it is that Mercury Jazz Series (or in some cases Jazz Series IS actually the "Title" on this and other Mercury Jazz Series records. If a member of 45cat or 45worlds wanted to find of all the releases under the "Mercury Jazz Series" they would show up under that search.
I'm not sure what the mods at 45worlds consider a "Title"? if not this? Can you give me an example? |

| | Mercury Jazz Series is not the title of this record but the title of the series (Be Bop Series up to 8906), so it does not belong to the record details on the top of the page but to the record notes, where contributors can add it themselves (and where it meanwhile has been added as well).
See also my list Hot Jazz in the 1950s: Norman Granz' 8900/89000 Series on Mercury, Clef and Verve on another site. |

| | Is there a way to put a "Title" on an "Add 78" without going to the "Add Missing Info" link?
"Mercury Jazz Series" was added after the entry was complete -- but if a "Title" was wanted there should be a way to add from the original "Add 78" page (I would think?). |
