 "Teardrops From My Eyes", backed by the the band of tenor saxophonist Budd Johnson, was Ruth Brown's second hit and her first song to climb to the top of the R&B charts, spending 25 weeks on the charts in all, 11 of them at #1. It was Atlantic's second #1 R&B hit and their first record made available on 45 rpm in Jan 1951: 45-919 (together with 45-914).
