 Hi xiphophilos,
this one was already on the database (with a blue "gold band" label version issued later, between 1917 and 1923). You may merge the two entries.

I had indeed overlooked that. Have now switched the track order on the original entry and merged both entries. Xip.

 Bert Williams was an immensely popular vaudeville entertainer in his day and one of the first negro artists (he was West Indian) to appeal to a mainly white audience. Bizarrely he appeared on stage for some years in "black face" singing "coon" songs, a-la Al Jolson (who he probably influenced), so early audiences probably thought he was a white man under the burnt cork. He made his first records as early as 1901, appeared on Broadway and at the Shaftsbury Theatre in London for an extended season in 1903.
