Something more about the "A" side: The track used here is said to be take 13 whereas the first master of it, used on Columbia 511, was take 6, possibly recorded not on the same day but notably earlier. It seems that the artist was also labeled as Columbia Quartette (on one issue of Columbia 511) and Climax Quartette (on Climax 511) respectively. The song title is much better known as "Carry Me Back to Old Virginny", composed by James A. Bland though not mentioned on the record label. All this information can be found on http://adp.library.ucsb.edu/.

Originally submitted, unsourced release date "30 Nov 1909" is presumably incorrect. Catalog number points to a 1908 release date, see http://adp.library.ucsb.edu/.
