Notes

A: mx 3147 (label); 3147-2-9 (i.e., take 2) PATENTED NOV. 25, 1902 (embossed in runout), recorded New York, NY, ca. 1905-08.

B: mx 569 (label), 569-4-1 (i.e., take 4) (embossed in label), recorded New York, NY, ca. 1902.

The vocal part of this "Japanese National March" is actually the Japanese national anthem, "Kimi-ga-yo."
"Vienna Beauties" is erroneously attributed to (Johann) Strauss, but it is, in fact, a waltz by Carl Michael Ziehrer, a.k.a. "Weaner Madl'n" or "Wiener Mädeln" (op. 388).

The labels represent a 1908-1910 pressing (Columbia Graphophone Company Gen'l Pat. at bottom and four patent dates in two lines listed to the right of the company name) per Michael W. Sherman & Kurt R. Nauck III, Note the Notes: An Illustrated History of the Columbia Record Label 1901-1958, New Orleans 1998, p. 26.
