Bessie Smith signed an exclusive recording contract with Columbia on April 20, 1923, but her earliest Columbia releases do not yet bear the "Exclusive Artist" branding, cf.
Columbia A3844 (May 1923)
Columbia A3877 (June 1923)
Columbia A3888 (June 1923)
Columbia A3898 (July 1923)
Columbia A3900 (July 1923)
Columbia A3936 (August 1923) [this record here]
Columbia A3939 (August 1923)
The first Exclusive Artist release is
Columbia A3942 (September 1923)

Thus, this Exclusive Artist branded label is a repress from Sept.-Nov. 1923 (in Dec. 1923, the Flag label was introduced). Similarly, all catalog numbers originally released before Sept. 1923 but with Exclusive Artist on the label are represses.

Another Columbia ad from Talking Machine World uploaded, showing that this record was already available in mid-August 1923, although it was announced in the "Advance Record Bulletins for September, 1923" of the same issue of the magazine.

A small article in the same August 1923 issue confirms, "Bessie Smith's Records Popular" (uploaded as well).
