xiphophilos 19th Jun 2022		Great, that agrees with my observation. From the start in 1945 to 1948 Swedish Musica labels bear the Telefunken logo under the label name.

xiphophilos 14th Jun 2022		I noticed that the Swedish Musica labels bear the Telefunken logo under the label name until 1948 and then again from 1953 on. Between 1949 and 1952, they show a stylized M logo instead. The Norwegian Musica labels, in contrast, switch to the stylized M in 1949 and then stick with it through the 1950s.



KeithS SUBS 13th Jun 2022		A guess as to why some bear the Telefunken logo and some don't....Sweden was obtaining Telefunken product after the war but only officially began Telefunken Försäljnings AB in 1948 which was a cooperation between Sweden. Norway, Denmark and Finland So then they were distributors for Telefunken, Telestar, Capitol, Supraphon, Musica, Warner Bros, Swedish Society Discofil.



xiphophilos 13th Jun 2022		Thanks for confirming my suspicion that the longer rim text is in Norwegian. So these labels were made for sale in both Sweden and Norway. I guess the only way to keep them apart is to see which records, because of the language the lyrics are in or because of the nationality of the performers, would primarily appeal to a Swedish, which to a Norwegian audience.



Sundius-Larsen SUBS 13th Jun 2022		Sorry, I missed the "Scandinavian" version, the longer text is in Norwegian. I agree that you found the Swedish version, good. job! I will try to find as many early Musica as I can. The list of Musica series is a good base, but each record must be evaluated since the A 8700 series isn't strictly Swedish, but it will perhaps be problematic with mixed-label records.



xiphophilos 13th Jun 2022		From what I see, Discogs has two different copies, and one seems to be Danish, whereas the other one, to which I had conveniently linked, looks like a Swedish copy to me. The Danish copy (click here!) says in Danish "Ret til radioudsendelse og offentlig fremførelse forbeholdt" (as our copy here). What I think is a Swedish copy (click here!) says in Swedish "Rätt till radioutsändning och offentligt framförande förbehålles" (The right to radio broadcasting and public performance is reserved). On the back, the Swedish copy has a label with a longer rim text that reads: "Selges til privatbruk. Utleie eller utlån i erversöyemed eller til offentlig fremföring i kringkasting, höyttaleranlegg, lydfilminspilling m. v. uten fabrikantens samtykke forbutt." (Sold for private use. Rental or lending for commercial purposes or for public performance in broadcasting, loudspeaker systems, sound film recording, etc. without the manufacturer's consent prohibited.)
