xiphophilos 19th Sep 2022		The Hot Record Society started by assigning its releases a "Month Year" catalog number. Only in 1939 or 1940 (and retroactively on represses) did they assign conventional catalog numbers like H.R.S. 14. But by then they also had redesigned their labels completely.

DeweyGill SUBS 21st Jan 2021		I have long been a fan of certain string bass players and Columbia's ability to record them circa 1927 to 1930. I own various U S and foreign pressings of this recording for that reason, but this issue is by far the best sounding. Pops Foster's bass literally shakes the floors on a high quality schellac pressing with nearly no background noise, absolutely crisp and clean. Original Columbia plates perhaps?
