| xiphophilos 15th Jun 2019 | Cool! That's take 1, stamper 8 for the A side; take 2, stamper 3 for the B side. I still haven't figured out what the letters mean. The take numbers and letters are usually pressed into the shellac, whereas the stamper number is raised. So they were added at different points in the production process. The FY label printing code (= June 1918) means this record was probably on sale around August 1918. | |

The matrix numbers for this record are missing in Spottswood's "Columbia E-Series", so it would be great to have them confirmed by images. If you can read the take numbers as well (probably stamped under the label) that would also be welcome. | |
