 Sounds ok to me

The conclusion is: For copyright reasons, this record, using HMV's Nipper logo, could not legally be sold in Germany and thus can't be considered a German release.

I don't quite get the HMV/DGG story fully, I'm a bit slow today..probably too many abbreviations

Before WW1, HMV in the UK and DGG in Germany were part of the same set up "The Gramophone Company"

During WW1 the Germans steal DGG as war booty and sell to Polydor

After WW1 Polydor think they should be able to use the Nipper trade mark??????
That's a bit cheeky!!!

A further bit of reading tells me that they didn't give EMI back the rights to use Nipper until 1949.

A little more explanation of HMV/Electrola and Polydor in the Electrola label biography.

The HMV's couldn't legally be sold on the German market. Only Electrolas could. They were meant for export to the Low Countries and Scandinavia, it seems, but could also be bought in the UK and Australia. We've discussed this on the Forum at https://www.45worlds.com/topic/102496.

 Why a UK export rel.?
The EH series were made in England but sold only on the German market. The intendent market was Germany, why not a German rel. then?
Just wondering.
