Re checked the colours on the download from computer , originals are purple too ( scanned/camerard at the dark end of the scale, later ones are a bit brighter but not fundamentally different colour.

Wow, I didn't know that until now. The F 100 series ended up having so many records - extending up to F 2555, I see - that I always thought the F 3000 series was a continuation.

By the time the cheaper series were discontinued in 1955, the Parlophone F's had evolved into a mainly Scottish series.

Not quite. The F100 series were 'entertainment'. The Scottish stuff was a different series - the F3000. See http://78rpmcommunity.com/wiki/view/pageId/13/slug/parlophone-records-listings-wiki

The Parlophone F series (brown) was lower priced than the main R series (black). It included a lot of these ballroom dance records, like the equivalent series of the other EMI labels (Columbia FB and His Master's Voice BD). All three shared the brown label colour.

By the time the cheaper series were discontinued in 1955, the Parlophone F's had evolved into a mainly Scottish series.

Parlophone had both Black Labels and Purple/Brown labels I think they may have distinguished different types of music (or resale prices) at one time.

Unobscured labels added. Bad luck about the sticky labels, I've tried soaking them off in the past but they will always have affected the colours underneath. :-(

Not sure whether the colours are different as lots of scans on here not quite true colours, but the fonts used and publishing company logos are different on the two examples.

I've not added Tango to the titles, though I see that dance types are added for the others in this discography.

(Sorry about the stickers)
