 Thanks, Keith. I notice that MT.105 and MT107 (which for some reason has no full stop in the cat. nr.) have the same two label pressing rings as the vinyl version here, so presumably they are also both vinyl. I wonder if both of the copies we currently have on the site are represses.

MT.122 (Sept. 1956), MT.125 and MT.142 (1957) also have these two pressing rings, and MT.130 (Jan. 1957) is marked as vinyl in the notes.

By late 1956 or early 1957, the vinyl versions seem to have become standard, and all vinyl versions of earlier releases are represses.

 Mercury in the US began with Merco Plastic in early 1949 and marking the labels "Non Breakable"
Pye in the UK who produced Mercury there started by offering two variants of the same record but that must have been well into the 1950's. I remember The Platters "Only You" and I notice that MT 107 from 1956 here on the site is marked as "Flexible"

 I assume the vinyl variant with the two pressing rings is later than the shellac variant. Does anyone know when Mercury switched to vinyl?
