fixbutte 21st Jul 2017		Submitted with the [recording] date of 22 June 1937 but this is not true. That date was the date when Lead Belly recorded "Rock Island Line" for the first time, in Washington D.C. for the Library of Congress. In contrast, these commercial recordings here were made in January 1942 for the small Asch label which released them in a three-record album set some months later, Work Songs Of The U.S.A.
