 Thanks, xiphophilos, for linking the whole Till the Clouds Roll By film (2:15:31 hours!). I hope I'll have time to watch it in the near future.

Interestingly, Frank Sinatra is in the film but not on the soundtrack. Apparently MGM had planned to include his version of "Ol' Man River", but on January 11, 1947 the Billboard magazine reported that MGM had cut Sinatra's number out of the soundtrack. As pointed out there, film agreements generally included recording rights then, but "Sinatra was committed to the Columbia label prior to any contract agreements with MGM studios".
