| | Wow, only 1695 [no artist listed] entries left! So you must have linked 56 entries today. Thanks for this Herculean effort. |

| | Sounds good. And I made this record the first one. |

| | I'd definitely be happy if you started linking these to their artist's discographies. We could do that the way it's done on Discogs and add a note: "The artist is not credited by name on the label(s)." |

| | xiphophilos, if you're in agreement with it, I'll start editing a lot of these. |

| | Sometimes, leaving out the artist name surely was deliberate, especially when that same artist was under exclusive contract elsewhere or when the label was a cheap budget label. With these early records, though, I wonder if many performers were simply not considered important enough to mention them. In contrast, Columbia made sure to credit Cal Stewart by name because his name sold the record.
Deliberate or not, I don't think that needs to have any bearing on whether we want to see these releases appear among the artist's other entries whenever we can identify the artist name for sure. |

| | the omission of an artist name seems deliberate by the label and thus correct information lies in our database, information from recording resources and research properly credited is rightfully placeable in record notes , and possibly comments too if further verification on a conjecture or complex attributions is needed |

| | There currently are 1751 credits listed as [no artist listed], but the vast majority of these will probably not need to be converted because we literally don't know who the artist is. |

| | @ cyeaman This is probably something that the moderators need to vote on. But it's going to be very time consuming to straighten all of these out and put them in the artist's discographies. |

| | I also wondered about this. I suppose the down-side of not adding artist's names to releases that don't credit them is that these releases don't show up on the artist's page on this site. I do hear your concern about editing hundreds of records, Mike. Especially since only moderators can make those edits. |

| | Also, if you Google this artist, label and catalog no., the record will come up from the information in the notes. |

| | I'm not for doing that personally. If we put the actual artist in, then we're going to have hundreds of records on this site that will need to be re-edited. |

| | The artist name is not listed here, but isn't it okay to add it anyway when you can show evidence for who it is? |
