| | Compared with US issue which has "Hot Diggity" on the reverse (47-6427). [Who first did this song?? I usta kinda like it, still do]. Also at the US listing I saw this notation posted by VetteZ51:
Note: At the time of this release, records in the UK were reportedly pirated from records received from the United States. A new master was created from the American record and, hence, a new matrix number was created. This HMV release appears to be an example of this activity which is said to have been common. (Anyone know of the new numbers?)
Could this have anything to do with it? At the least, it's an interesting story that I never heard of. Could the old design have been used to cut costs? Note that the flipside here is an ancient side. No writer's credit on a current song seems very suspicious. Hopefully others have insights on this. |

| | Indeed, puzzling. Also, check out Bluebell by Alma Cogan |

| | The label appears to belong to the B.D. series? The song Juke box baby was first recorded in early 1956 according to the back of a bear boxset I found on the web so the release is definately 56 and no earlier. I wonder if strike action was a factor in old stock labels being used? |

| | Thanks W.B.lbl. If it was released in '56, the puzzle remains why the label has the pre-55 UK appearance! |

| | The A side was definitely 1956 - by RCA Victor [USA]'s byzantine matrix numbering system, the prefix was as follows:
G - 1956
2 - RCA Victor
P - Popular
B - 10" - 78 RPM (45's had a W in the fourth character)
The B side's recording was thus:
E4 - 1954
V - Popular (RCA Victor)
B - 10" - 78 RPM |

| | This record puzzles me. First is the lack of label credits - second, POP 191 should be with the turquoise labels of 1955/59, but I'm fairly sure this came out in '54. Any ideas? |
