 @Zabadak:

Just bought a broken copy of this for a few pennies as I wanted the red/beige Mercury sleeve it was sold in. I wasn't able to play it - since it was broken - but being aware that it was on Kenny Everett's "Worst Record" compilation - I thought I'd give Mr Andrew's the benefit of the doubt and have a listen for myself

Mr Everett was right, though. This sucks to high-heaven and probably sold on the strength of Eamonn being a popular TV personality. He doesn't even sing on it, merely narrates, rather like Wink Martindale on 'Deck of Cards'

I wanted to like it, but it wasn't to be

Edit:

I've just did a bit of investigating and I now know that this "song" was recorded by all & sundry, including Jim Reeves & Johnny Cash. It has a cowboy sound to it, and since cowboy shows were very popular in those days............

 i didn't realise he 'sang' anything else .... it's kinda like looking for records of Rex Harrison :-)

 This record was Andrews' only UK chart hit, spending three weeks in the top 20 and peaking at #18 in February 1956.

 The Gramophone Popular Record Catalogue of April 1956 has this listed as being available only as a 78rpm issue.
