this cover art used from 4/1975 8th 345-24160-6 through 12/1982 17th 0-345-28996-X & 3/1989 24th 0-345-31575-8 printings (mis-credited in this latter to charles ren);

18th & 19th printings use cover art by charles ren (credited), in different cover design setting.

The date may depend on whether the publication was a magazine serialization or a (later) hardcover edition.

Weirdly the 1978 Ace Books edition I am indexing shortly indicates 1917 as year of "first book publication" though Wikipedia and other sites claim 1938.
