First UK paperback edition. Novelization of the 7-episode 1963-64 Doctor Who storyline, "The Daleks", teleplay by Terry Nation (also known as "The Dead Planet"). Title is as per title page; cover abbreviates "Dr. Who" and spine title is simply, "Dr. Who". Illustrations by Peter Archer. Later republished by Target Books as Doctor Who and the Daleks. Cover depicts William Hartnell as the First Doctor. 160 pages.

23skidoo 30th Sep 2020		Later retitled Doctor Who and the Daleks when republished by Target Books, and later Target editions adjust the title further to Doctor Who: The Daleks. The 1964 Avon edition I have seen erroneously referred to as a tie-in with the Peter Cushing film, Dr. Who and the Daleks, but it actually predates the making of that film by a year or so. (this comment is from another edition of this book)
