annaloog 22nd Jul 2022		I'll take your word for it. BTW, how does this compare with the other post-Fleming 007 novels? I've read only a few: I liked Amis/Markham's "Colonel Sun" the best of the lot; I found Gardner's efforts mediocre at best, although they provided titles for the later films.



23skidoo 21st Jul 2022		@annaloog. I agree. There may be a reason for it. Like perhaps there was an alteration of the text or something. Or this was some sort of special print run. I found it rather odd to find this in a discount remainder bin at a junior department store in a small Alberta town the year it was published. Though as an aside this has much better cover art than the awful North American hardcover edition with the gold text and vertical lines that actually made me physically ill when I first saw it (and made me decide to wait for a paperback). No one's bothered to index it here yet, but you can google the cover.

23skidoo 21st Jul 2022		No, just the ISBN (I think it's probably printed on the copyright page anyway). Since UPCs and ISBNs tend to be the same now, odds are that's the case here too. I tried removing the sticker but it started to take the cover ink with it so I figured I should leave it be.

23skidoo 21st Jul 2022		I decided to scan the stickered cover anyway. ISBN is still taken from the back cover; I can make out the numbers through the sticker. Should the two versions be merged?



JPGR&B SUBS 18th Nov 2020		Interestingly, my paperback First Edition here has a different ISBN/Barcode.



23skidoo 17th Nov 2020		Unable to provide a cover scan for this edition as the second-hand copy I own has a big price sticker on the front that cannot be removed without damaging the cover.
