The one and only New Adventures series book to feature the eighth Doctor in the incumbent role, and the final one to feature the Doctor.

Virgin Publishing lost their "Doctor Who Books" franchise when the BBC took the control of book publishing in-house to capitalise on the release of the movie. However the Virgin Books "New Adventures" series continued starring Bernice Summerfield in the main role (obviously without any mention of Doctor Who). Bernice was a companion created by Virgin/Doctor Who Books specifically for the New Adventures book series, and being a character created without any BBC input, was not subject to BBC copyright.

23skidoo 6th Oct 2020		Submitting one correction: by the time this book came out, Virgin had retired the Doctor Who Books imprint, so this one was published under the regular Virgin branding.



23skidoo 8th Jul 2020		Although correctly described as the final book in the New Adventures series, due to manuscript delays, one further novel, So Vile a Sin, would be published before Virgin fully retired the Doctor from the NA line; that novel featured the Seventh Doctor and was part of an earlier story arc so in practical use, it tends to get filed earlier than Dying Days.



RadoxTheGreen 3rd Oct 2015		This being the last of the Doctor Who New Adventures, not surprisingly the book sold out quickly (in most stores just on pre-orders). Today, copies sell on Amazon from anywhere between £60 and £200. Also not surprisingly, this is the other book in the series I don't own in anything other than electronic form.
