Apollo59

CD Album
Amy Winehouse - Frank (2003)
Not too sure what's particularly Special Edition with this, except the stickered advert for the first three singles, that indicates this CD must be a repress from at least 6 months after the initial release. My copy bought at time of release doesn't have the sticker.

CD Album
The Who - Maximum Who (2002)
Of mild interest to the enthusiast and quite amusing when the narrator states "...in 1949 they formed a band called the Confederates..."

Apollo59
16th Aug 2017
CD Album
Pete Townshend - Scoop 3 (2001)
Theme 018 should put in a complaint...

Apollo59

Apollo59
16th Aug 2017
CD Album
Pete Townshend - The Best Of Pete Townshend [coolwalkingsmoothtalkingstraightsmokingfirestoking] (1996)
Rather difficult to track this one down with the title written as such

Apollo59
16th Aug 2017
CD Album
John Entwistle - Boris The Spider (2001)
@leonard: I'll upload a better scan of the covers in due course

Apollo59
16th Aug 2017
CD Album
John Entwistle - Boris The Spider (2001)
Why the country of release in this instance, what's so special about this one?
What's different about this disc from any others?
Why isn't this put under Europe like almost everything else made anywhere in Europe?
Not that I want that to happen, but it might help me to understand your logic.

CD Album
John Entwistle - Boris The Spider (2001)
I like the fact that this is marked as Netherlands. The Europe and International categories are meaningless and a huge mistake imho.

Apollo59
16th Aug 2017
CD Album
The Who - Amazing Journey The Story Of The Who (2008)
Track 1 isn't The High Numbers version, but The Who's Shel Talmy production from April 1965.
The June 1964 High Numbers recording has not yet surfaced.

Apollo59

Apollo59

CD Album
Various Artists - Tommy (2001)
Most of the Townshend and Entwistle ones. The other listing cat# 841 121-2 is accurate.

Apollo59
15th Aug 2017
CD Album
The Who - Horton Hears The Who (1991)
It was bootlegs of this quality that prompted the release of the Thirty Years Of Maximum R&B box set

Apollo59
15th Aug 2017
CD Album
The Who - Live From Toronto (2006)
Recorded 17 December 1982 and does contain some tracks that appeared on "Who's Last", albeit in a completely different mix. The original mix on the "Who Rocks America" film of the same date sounds nothing like this CD.

CD Album
The Who - The Singles (1984)
Not all tracks are exactly the Singles versions.
The back cover is the new and improved 2nd attempt at some level of accuracy with track timings.
This is what's on this:
1. Substitute: 3'46 - mono
2. I'm A Boy: 2'38 - mono - full length (some versions have early fade)
3. Happy Jack: 2'12 - mono - full length (some versions have early fade)
4. Pictures Of Lily: 2'43 - mono
5. I Can See For Miles: 4'00 - mono - shorter version (by 5 seconds) with the Entwistle re-recorded bass guitar overdub
6. Magic Bus: 3'15 - mono - early fade (some versions 4-6 seconds longer)
7. Pinball Wizard: 3'01 - stereo
8. My Generation: 3'17 - mono
9. Summertime Blues: 3'22 - stereo
10. Won't Get Fooled Again: 3'36 - complete edit version
11. Let's See Action: 3'58
12. Join Together: 4'20
13. 5.15: 4'18 - different stereo mix & edited version of the original 7" at 4'48
14: Squeeze Box: 2'40
15: Who Are You: 5'01 - with the alternate acoustic guitar solo that's different to the album version
16: You Better You Bet: 5'35

@ppint: but not to negate from the handiness of that there page - that's a keeper, thanks again.

CD Album
The Who - Who's Next (2003)
@philwill: You're wrong, and perhaps your eyesight fails you as there's a dash marker between the 2nd last digit 6 and the last digit 2.
You will see this dash on 1) the bottom line of the slip sleeve and 2) the spine

Can't think why they had to fade-out Track 25, the excellent live version of Baby Don't You Do It from Civic Auditorium, San Francisco, 13 December 1971
This is still the only commercial CD where this track is available

Apollo59

That's really funny - 2 Moderators here talking about the CD and neither notices the Cat# has been entered incorrectly. Way to go...
