George Slv 27th Mar 2019		CD Album Jimmy Velvit [Mullins] - The Original Jimmy Velvit (1995)	The CD pamphlet says All Rights Reserved 1994. The composers are so readers know which songs they are. That's my best judgment on handling that. I do believe it was Tennant who bailed out Mullins. If Phil York is still around he should be persuaded to release the photo of both Jimmies together. Maybe let Getty images handle it.
George Slv 28th Dec 2018		CD Album Teresa Brewer - The Jazz Recordings (2018)	This was planned for a few weeks ago but was postponed. While the recordings are 1950s the cover photo is from her 1982 Swiss Montreaux Jazz Festival appearance.
George Slv 6th Oct 2018		CD Album Ronnie Dove - The Complete Original Chart Hits 1964-1969 (2014)	I came across this at 7digital downloads in Canada. Hearing the mere mp3 samples I thought this was the best sounding digital transfer I've heard online. Two songs were lesser quality including When Liking Turns To Loving. The 16-bit flac songs were $1.89 each so I only bought two and recorded my balance from my own hits LP. There is a flac and mp3 option, no m4a which I would prefer over mp3. The pricing is premium. About his hits, Hello Pretty Girl is a great favorite. I thought Say You and Kiss Away were enchanting reminders of 1961. Seems that by 1964 and 65 with a new punk era starting they did not chart as high as his others. His strength was in redoing old style pop with strong new arrangements, like Dean Martin and Bobby Vinton.

George Slv 14th Feb 2017		CD Album Connie Francis - 26 Greatest Hits (Audiophile Version) (2010)	This is another one of those disc titles that's a joke. 26 Greatest Hits? I count half a dozen, from her first hits package in 1960 only. The rest being album songs. But at least they state that in the contents.

There are a couple CDs on sale at priceminister.com right now. There is also an extended edition of his Carnegie concert available.
George Slv 28th Sep 2016		CD Album Teresa Brewer - The Cotton Connection (1989)	I now notice the name "Zillion" on my product. This apparently is a record label Zillion Records, I guess in Holland. This seems to be significant info about this release, needs to be figured. The release number on mine is 2611152, Signature not mentionned anywhere, but given at Teresa Brewer Center. I ordered it from Europe. But it does not make this 45Worlds entry wrong.
George Slv 26th Sep 2016		CD Album Teresa Brewer - The Cotton Connection (1989)	The cover is the same picture as the LP and cassette but has special effects added. This was a tribute to the music of the late Duke Ellington, conducted by Mercer Ellington. My standout track here is Creole Love Call, where Teresa does wordless multi-tracked vocalizing, and also does a soprano part.

Each one plays on an individual song.

I currently see it at Amazon, and I'm not sure how legitimate it is or whether they even made the CD from mp3s or what? This company apparently is copying the old vinyl LPs. They also call it "remastered", which is the wrong term.

George Slv 18th Oct 2015		CD Album Marcie Blane / Tracey Dey - Marcie Blane Together With Tracey Dey (1998)	I've seen issue dates of 2009 and 2013 online, so it may have been reissued. It is considered unauthorized. Quality is fine. Missing was a little sub-label that Marginal of Belgium had for about 10 issues. And here are the Europeans again misusing the term "remastered". These were copied from vinyl.
George Slv 21st Aug 2015		CD Album Pat Boone - At His Best: (2000)	There's confusion over Love Letters In The Sand because he rerecorded it in 1959 for the stereo edition of Great Hits. Here is an archive copy from this release, made in 1974.
George Slv 6th Aug 2015		CD Album Clyde McPhatter - A Shot Of Rhythm And Blues (2000)	If you read the bottom right of the insert page 4, the notes are creating a terrible mixup with the two songs. When it says Lavender Lace differs from Roy Orbison's, it is referring to Sweet and Innocent. Terrible mistake. Considering what follows it. They locate an old reference of Orbison and Melson writing Lavender Lace. So now is this also a typo and they meant Sweet and Innocent? There is no Orbison Lavender Lace. They allow that the reference may be mistaken. But we still aren't sure what they are talking about. Lavender Lace was written by Bob Montgomery around 1966, confirmed on the single.

George Slv 6th Aug 2015		CD Album Clyde McPhatter - A Shot Of Rhythm And Blues (2000)	This collection from Amy is mostly soul ballad oriented. That was not the way to get hits. But there are terrific standouts in a pop-rock vein - tracks 01 to 04. These were on singles, but were not enuf to get him hits at that stage. If nothing else you need to have his "A Shot Of Rhythm And Blues" in your collection.

George Slv 19th May 2015		CD Album Elvis Presley - Elvis At Sun (2004)	Digital masters made from the original Sun master tapes. So it appears to have the original Sun reverb, and sounds that way too. Used the DSD digital method, supposedly the best available now. But of course as soon as ya convert it to 16-bit CD audio, ya ottimatikly lose sound. But it does sound guud. I'd still like to know the history of remastering after RCA got them.

More odd remastering tricks that died in 1962. What is wrong with these people?!! This music is supposed to be monaural, bright and punchy with deep bass. Yes, there is surface noise. However, if re-mastered properly, there is also great music. This is over filtered and processed, and it sounds like rubbish. As Louis Jordan said, "BEWARE". "
George Slv 21st Mar 2015		CD Album Duke Ellington - The Essential Duke Ellington (2010)	With Sony now owning the RCA catalog they can provide all of Duke's hits in one release. These were "remastered" [phoney term] from 78s. (digitally copied and then processed for noise). Previously Columbia and RCA had issued sets of their own which they digitally mastered from original hard masters (whatever the right terms are). Columbia had The Duke: The Essential Recordings (1927-1962), RCA had The Duke Ellington Centennial Edition.

George Slv 19th Mar 2015		CD Album Nancy Sinatra - The Hit Years (1986)	This would parallel to the LP "Boots: Nancy Sinatra's All-Time Hits". So I just got to know if the LP was made from this same digital master. I'm giving up hope of them using analog masters for analog releases.
