David Bowie - Low (1999)
All of the Bowie 1999 24 Bit remaster enhanced CDs including a slide show and connection to "BowieNet" were released in Australia and therefore should be International if anyone is interested. Personally, I own four of these but I couldn't give a monkeys about where or how they are listed because this part of the site is so confusing it's overwhelming.

Buffy Sainte-Marie - Fire & Fleet & Candlelight (2004)
The title of the CD is meant to be "Fire & Fleet & Candlight" with no mysterious quotation marks around the ands according to Ace catalogue. I'll send a correction. A great album though.

Ultravox - Vienna
Hi Greg, I've linked this copy of Vienna to my copy below. However, I'm a little concerned that the tracklist on mine contains 4 bonus tracks and a video. I suppose my question is while they are definitely versions of the same album do the extras (songs and video) make it technically a different album as the tracklists don't match. My real question is should I have linked the releases or not?? Any advice appreciated.

The discography for this band is a bit messy and this release and https://www.45worlds.com/cdalbum/cd/724381198322cdvus216 don't seem to linked in any way.

Did I really not post a shot of the CD? I'll fix that up straight away.

The Temptations - Psychedelic Soul (2000)
This one has the now famous Australian Spectrum "0" before the barcode but in every other detail it is the same as the linked Spectrum European. Oh, other than being made in Australia of course.

Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - Let Love In (1994)
Added Booklet scans pages 2-11 to shuffle into place before the Back Cover scan. Hey didn' ya say that just before. Yup, I'm economising on comments and pasting em' in for my other comments. Coming soon comments from CDs listed in 2015 - Look Out.

Added cover shot for moderation. Thanks to Mr. Vinyl Junkie for doing the initial entry on this one. Did you know I have one of Nick Cave's spoons?

Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds - Murder Ballads (1996)
Linked to the Australian release which unusually has, well in my opinion, better artwork on the CD label. It's not very often that happens.

Various Artists - Mojo Presents Return To The Star Club (2016)
A good example of the depths to which Mojo Magazine has sunk. Yet another Beatles inspired cover CD that retreads many already overly regurgitated tracks that the Beatles covered or were influenced by. Dreary! "Return To The Star Club" no thank you. Hey Mojo would there be any new music coming out that might interest your readers? And if you lot must compile CDs from days of yore could please make an attempt to make them slightly interesting? I'm afraid the answer to those questions is no and has been for so long that what's left of a once great magazine is not worth wiping your arse with these days. Bit of a shame really.

Carla Thomas - The Queen Alone (2007)
I agree Greg but think it would be easier if we could just add a country/countries from the Add Missing Info section. Then the region of origin or initial release could be preserved and users could just add flags like secondary cat#s. Since the globalisation of the music began in the 1980's Australia has been used as a test market for US independent releases and a dumping ground for oversupplies of stock from Europe and the US but mainly Europe. We also get a lot of niche market product (Soul, Blues, 50's Rock 'n' Roll, Detroit Rock and Jazz) direct from the US or Europe because producing a local product is more expensive than shipping in a few thousand to satisfy the market.
The point is that a lot stuff people think is either a USA or European release can in fact be made International on evidence such as is available in regard to this CD. The big problem with just tacking on "Issued in..., Issued in ..." is that our database will list the CD as International. This is fine in that it reflects the current guidelines of the site but it will not reflect at all the industry catalogues in this case European and Australian. The Vinyl Junkie pointed this out in a recent forum post.
So, we will create an International entry based catalogue data that is either irretrievable or at least buried in the entry and this will create confusion and a lot of multiple entries of the same CD. More concerning to me though is that we are in danger of creating a database that is unique to 45Worlds, that is difficult to use and very hard to find things in. I have asked a MOD /the MODS to look at this entry because it should be International according to the guidelines but I don't think that's necessarily the best way to list it in terms of having a user friendly database. It is a big problem.

Carla Thomas - The Queen Alone (2007)
The problem here Greg is that nearly all of the Stax and Atlantic reissues of this era were available in Australia. I have at least 10 or so that I know about without even looking probably more if I have a thorough search. So if I request a change on this one I'll have to go back through and do the others. Not that I'm lazy but I can't really see the point of doing it because as you say it will cause confusion. I'm quite happy to have a European copy and as I buy music to listen to and not because of were it came from it doesn't bother me that much.
However, by not doing it we're not adhering to the guidelines and ignoring the fact that it was listed in catalogues and available in Australia in this form. What to do? And why is it that anytime stuff is proven to International there are always caveats and the need for further explanation? I'll hail MOD and see what they think. Correction sent but more to ask for someone to look into it and offer some advice.

I have this European copy Phil which was the Australian release I'm ashamed to say. So, should this be made International as this was the copy available here and listed in Platterlog?

k.d. lang And The Reclines - Absolute Torch And Twang (1989)
Thanks Vinyl Junkie but that information still leaves us in muddy waters regarding this one. So, it's most likely a locally (Australian) released West German made copy and not an import but we have no proof. I can live with that.

Big Audio Dynamite - Planet Bad (1995)
Hi Greg, thanks for that I do get lost in the nitty gritty of definitions and the parameters of the guidelines sometimes. I have just gone over them again and you are right the Europe category applies when an item is available in at least two countries in the geographic region of Europe and the economic construct of the EU is not relevant at all.

I can't work out why my copy is an import now Phil? This one is probably my favourite k.d. lang release and the Reclines were very versatile as well as a kick arse country band.

k.d. lang And The Reclines - Absolute Torch And Twang (1989)
Added a full set of booklet scans for shuffling into place. Thanks to hiwatt for doing the initial entry. I think this European release may have also been an Australian release or maybe I've just got an imported copy TheVinylJunkie or Pomegranate would probably know for sure. An Australian manufactured version of this CD was released in Australasia according to Discogs with the same barcode and shortened cat# of 9 25877-2. However, I'm wondering if this version was available in Australia before a local copy produced. If that is the case then this one should be made International.

The Birthday Party - Hits (1992)
Linked to Australian issue of this CD which strangely contains no hits in spite of the name on the cover. I think "Release The Bats" scraped the bottom of the Australian charts but it was #1 in my house for years. Still a great collection of the Birthday Party's output though.

Big Audio Dynamite - Planet Bad (1995)
I agree with gregs78s on this entry international does not mean a global cat# and barcode exists for every CD but merely that the album was released in more than one country with the same details. This can cause problems though. This Brakes Rough Trade release was bought is Australia as a regular CD not an import, marketed in the UK and Ireland so I entered it as International even though I know Rough Trade releases are essentially for the UK.
An interesting question on the European category is that when the UK eventually leaves the EU will that then mean ALL European CDs sold, distributed or marketed in the UK will then be International?
If the listing guidelines make this CD and the linked Brakes release International then surely they would apply to future UK releases as they do in these instances. Or perhaps not? Enlighten me oh wise ones but please try to avoid patriotic bullshit about how the guidelines apply to the rest of the world but not your country or region of origin - I'm getting confused again.

Various Artists - Mojo Music Guide Vol. 3 (2004)
Added all missing scans and an inlay shot with spines for shuffling about. Thanks to nboldock and RogerFoster for starting the ball rolling on this one. It's a shame they don't make 'em like this no more. More of a shame that Mojo and Uncut have morphed into the same ever-shrinking Dylan, Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, and Floyd fanzine. Soon they'll both be a paper foldout with a CD attached a la the Blues Collection.

London Grammar - If You Wait (2013)
Yeah Magic, I take your point I have a fair smattering of CDs and LPs that have been davalued by shrinkwrap before they were opened. One of the typical forms of damage I particularly dislike is when a CD is so tightly shrinkwrapped it cracks the inlay and depresses the teeth(?) that hold the CD in place. They usually then fall out when you open the CD and the CD rattles around inside the case for the rest of its life which causes faster depreciation. This seems to be more common on double CDs where having everything securely in place is doubly important.
A well known national music retailer in Australia compounds this problem when they process import CDs by whacking an even tighter shrinkwrap over the original shrinkwrap.
Another bugbear of mine is those silver-backed price stickers that will only come off with an industrial grinder. I don't like being constantly reminded of the money I have invested, or wasted according to me missus Ohm, on my superlative collection of oil and silicon based sound generating objects.
Aaah, I tried to write like an economist to account for the new follow/ignore criteria in an attempt generate followers from the secretive fat white global elite. But by midway through I had reverted the pea brained scatological nutter that usually posts under this avatar. Just shows you a leopard should never change buses mid-stream.

Magic, I know you're a strange cat but are you now suggesting we all drink our vinyl albums. I can see the logic in this approach as we could enjoy our albums with all five senses instead of just the normal four. However, I do worry about replay value? Do you have any tips on how to reconstitute an album after ingestion? Or does this technique only work with albums that are already shit?

The Raywells - E.P. (1999)
Well nboldock it will be no surprise that the otherworldly Captain Beefheart has an album that is a CD Single in another world. Which personally doesn't bother me at all but some members get very agitated about entries that exist in two worlds simultaneously. When I suggested that linked releases exist in both worlds I inadvertently sparked a 45 World War. Lucky it wasn't a Franz Ferdinand CD because then 45 Worlds would never be the same again. :)

The Raywells - E.P. (1999)
Yup nboldock, you're right CD EP's are hard to place. This though certainly exceeds the song limit for a CD single on 45 Worlds. So in that regard its placement here is justified but if it was marketed as a single and appears in industry catalogues that way there could be an issue. Unfortunately though, a lot of CD Singles and EP's fall into two bob each way category on 45 Worlds simply by exceeding the song limit. I don't as a rule buy CD singles but had over 10 of my 60 or so fall into this netherworld on 45 Worlds. Indecision and degree of difficulty can be a deterrent for site users entering their collections and these type of CD's are a nightmare.

Jilted John - Jilted Jam (2016)
This one has made No. 12 in the 45 Worlds Top 50 (21/08/16) which makes it the highest charting release by Jilted John of all time. Well done 45 Worlders, well the three of us that had a geek at this one anyway.
