Various Artists - Feed Your Head (2002)
I take your point Phil but as a past subscriber of many years to Mojo I do know they sought and procured copyright, licences, etc. in order to placate their overseas readers that bombarded the magazine with letters about "why don't we get a CD in such and such a place". So eventually Mojo addressed this issue but only after Uncut emerged and stole a huge chunk of there international market share by somehow being able to attach a CD to their magazine with no apparent copyright problems.
Mojo all of sudden didn't seem to have a problem issuing CDs and ramped up the frequency (not the quality) in response. I cancelled my subsciption because I now could get the CD and magazine locally. So now Mojo and Uncut are to CDs what MacDonalds is to toys - International distributors. The intention of both magazines is that CD is available wherever it is sold in the world - thus a global market for both the magazine and CD. I am happy to list the Mojo CDs as UK as that is where there are from but is interesting how some magazines are one thing and others another.

Various Artists - Feed Your Head (2002)
I know our native animals are fabulous eating material and loved the world over and that Mojo is a UK magazine but what I'm pointing out is there was a period when the CDs did not make it to our shores supposedly because of issues with copyright. Somehow in the late 90's this obstacle was overcome and the CD's started to come with the magazine, so therefore the intention of Mojo was to ship the CDs internationally. Other magazines, i.e., "The Blues Collection" was a UK (or European) magazine that shipped CDs worldwide and are they deemed rightly I believe to be International on this site. Why doesn't the same criteria apply to Mojo?

Jimmy Rogers - Hard Working Man (1992)
This CD does not appear on the Jimmy Rogers site homepage @ https://www.45worlds.com/cdalbum/artist/jimmy-rogers
for some reason it appears on its own on separate homepage. Any ideas why?

Various Artists - Feed Your Head (2002)
I'm sure Mojo is shipped all over the world with the CDs attached. There was a period in the 90's when they claimed to not ship CD's overseas because they didn't have the rights to ship them internationally but they obviously do now and have done for years. So my question is why are these a UK release and not International? I listed this as a UK release to match the other entries but personally I would have gone for International. Surely Mojo and Uncut for that matter are Internationally distributed magazines. Is there a reason that these are listed UK releases other than national pride?

Michelle Shocked - The Texas Campfire Tapes (1987)
Discogs has an Australian copy listed with the same release date, label, cat# and barcode but as with Michelle Shocked's other Mercury releases with similar coding, numbers etc. I expect there will be many more countries with the same details.

Michelle Shocked - Short Sharp Shocked (1988)
Added scans of Australian inlay and CD to this European copy which should now be made International and merged with the identical USA listing (linked) already on the site. The USA copy was the first listing but has no scans so I added my scans here just to keep them all together and to avoid having an Australian inlay as the lead shot on the USA listing. Time to Internationalize this one I think.

I have linked the copies of this release on the site but both this European issue and the linked USA issue have the same label, cat# and barcode. So the two entries need to be merged and the country changed to International. I also have an identical Australian copy but can't enter it because I don't know which entry to add it to. I'll copy this comment and send it as correction to try and get things sorted on these entries.

The Saboteurs - Consolers Of The Lonely (2008)
I thought it was Melbourne jazz band that owned the name "The Raconteurs" in Australia but Discogs tells a different story,
"The Raconteurs were renamed as "The Saboteurs" for the Australian market when it was discovered that a Queensland band was already using the name "Raconteurs". The Queensland band refused to give up their name for the amount they were offered, and instead asked for a higher price from The Raconteurs' record company, who refused to pay the greater amount. A member of the Queensland band said that they had not been informed of who was trying to buy their name and asked for the larger sum of money to see what would happen."
So anyway the upshot of this is "The Saboteurs" are the Australian version of the band the rest of the world knows as "The Raconteurs". Should they be linked to same homepage? Or is it another case of the same but different?

Thanks for looking into this Greg and coming up with a workable solution. Hope you like the scans, at least I'm getting the hang of that end of the deal. Anyway, I'll keep plowing on until the end of the alphabet.

I think this is already entered as a USA release and this European copy like my Australian copy has the same label, barcode and cat#. Should they all be joined at hip or should I create a new entry too? I never know what the answer will be, I'm just asking. See below for the USA listing details.

The Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldiers (2006)
All the "The Raconteurs" CDs were released as by "The Saboteurs" in Australia. I think a jazz band in Melbourne had the rights to the name over here and forced the name change. I don't know why they did it they may have accidentally sold some CDs! I'll upload The Saboteurs "Consolers Of The Lonely" later but would it be possible to link it to the "Raconteurs" homepage as they are the same releases just with different names for legal reasons.

A secondary cat# nightmare! This Australian copy has a sec. cat# 5418002 but the European issue has a sec. cat# of 541 8002. EMI Australia nearly always shortened imported cat#s to a single string and this is an example of that. The same but different? The same? Different? I can't decide. Discuss?

Supergrass - I Should Coco (1995)
On the inner disc the only discernible features it has are 8 33350 2 @ (well something that looks a bit like @) 1 written around the ring. Send a correction to change it if you wish Alenko, I personally don't mind or care that much about it. Personally, I feel there are two camps on the site Nationalists and Internationalists swirling around me like sharks and no matter how I enter anything it is wrong. My attitude is fast becoming - I'll whack em' in and you lot can argue among yourselves. Although I do get agitated and involved in this debate sometimes 95% of the CDs enter sail through cleanly. The 5% that hit troubled waters invariably involve the Nationalist/Internationalist schism between members and MODS on the site. By the way I bought my copy of this in Australia and it may well have been released here in this form but Phil will know that one.

Supergrass - I Should Coco (1995)
Alenko, what you're telling me is what I said yesterday and I was told I was wrong in relation to these releases. See my comments on Supergrass In It For The Money at https://www.45worlds.com/cdalbum/cd/cdpcs7388 yesterday. The Mods haven't processed this yet and they can decide I'm just putting in the info the way looks to me. I'm just a collector cataloguing my stuff, where it's from etc. is largely irrelevant to me. Personally, I would say nearly all this Supergrass stuff is International but people on the site are not to receptive of that idea and unfortunately secondary category numbers, spaces, hyphens, and ancillary companies have all become commonplace tools for differentiating (Nationalizing) CD's. Yesterday I thought, wrongly, it was pointed out, that the same label. cat# and barcode was enough. Now you're telling me I was right all along. I can't win can I?

Alenko, why does the second cat# not apply as it is on the inlay? As I stated below the European issue I saw online is blank in that field. Then if it is a European issue should there be two entries one with the CDPCS 7373 cat# and one without?

Listed as UK rather than Europe as the cat# is 7243 8 33350 2 2 / CDPCS 7373 the European issue does not have the CDPCS 7373 cat# in the barcode box on the inlay and is blank in the in box reserved for the UK cat#.

Greg, thanks very much for your thoughts on how best to deal with these cat#s. Your advice makes perfect sense to me and I will use the method you have described to enter my Australian Supergrass CDs. Unfortunately, I don't have the special edition of this one, just the regular CD version. I do, however, have the Australian special edition of Supergrass "Supergrass" though and will upload it later today. Thanks again, cheers. Lee

Southern Culture On The Skids - Dirt Track Date (1995)
This one's a Multi-National US made CD, Australian made bonus disc but only ever released in Australia in this combination to my knowledge. No record of this pairing on the net that I can find but I'm pretty sure it was released this way as a tour promotion.

Supergrass - In It For The Money (1997)
I'm happy to go with that Phil but Discogs lists this as cat# 7243 8 55228 2 6 nearly all over the world and I'm pretty sure by what your telling me it should be 8552282 for my release but this means all the cat#s with full listings will likely be wrong as they are not the bolded or highlighted portions of the number string. The site and myself personally are in the habit of listing the full string as per the inlay usually. It's a teaser this one.

Supergrass - In It For The Money (1997)
So if I enter my CD as Australian do I use the 8552282 as a prefix to the cat# 7243 8 55228 2 6
so it looks like this cat# 8552282 / 7243 8 55228 2 6 or just enter it as cat# 7243 8 55228 2 6? What was the score with THE BEST OF THE SPENCER DAVIS GROUP did you have enter both numbers or just one set? Another point here is this CD is listed as European and my copy matches those numbers and therefore is International but because there are UK specific numbers on the CD it is not? If this were a UK specific release it would make sense but it is according to the listing a European edition. My point is shouldn't the cat# in in wider use in this case 7243 8 55228 2 take precedence in this case and if not and the UK cat# is so important why not then just list it as a UK release. If I use the numbers in this box as a prefix to my cat#s on my Australian CD's everything will be Australian so shall I start doing that? I don't think it would go down well?

Supergrass - In It For The Money (1997)
Could someone tell me what this number and letters string is CDPCS 7388 and also tell me why it is part of the cat# or why it actually precedes what I would consider to be the cat#. I have searched the net but can't find an answer but I have a suspicion it is a price code and not part of the cat# at all. Does anyone know what the score is with these numbers. My Australian release has these numbers in the spot 8552282 where CDPCS 7388 is written on this copy but the label, cat# and barcode are the same. Should I enter my Australian copy with these 8552282 mystery numbers in front of the cat# or are the two CDs one and the same by the crirteria of the site and this constitutes an International release. Furthermore, if using these numbers is allowable and within the site guidelines we may as well go to the individual country method as everything will be different in regard to this particular set of numbers. Any thoughts?

Spirit - Clear (1996)
Hmm.. sladesounds check out Booklet 4 of my linked release below. Which clearly names the album in a list of their discography as "Clear". Nothing contentious about it "Clear" is the name of the album and "Spirit" is the name of the group. The label on the original also indicates this is the case.

I bought this in the mid 90's at a discount warehouse but this is actually a copy of legendary "Live At The Massey Hall Toronto March 28 1983" show. No idea of the date of release or how legitimate this release is I'm afraid but I do know that it is a great live set.

Yes, Roger I did mean you and that's the usual suspects all rounded up. I'm up to "S" in cataloging game so nearly through the alphabetic side of my lot then only about 300 compilations to follow. I'm hoping lots of them will already be on (Mojo & Uncuts) so I don't have to generate as many entries as I have in the individual artist lists. Oh, I have a few box sets lying around too but I'm pretending they're not there for a while. Gentlemen start your scanners.:)

Copy of the correction that was sent. "After much debate and to-ing and fro-ing we have come to that conclusion that there are two releases here my original Australian release which needs the country changed to Australia on this page. Then Bodston's copy which needs to have a separate UK entry made for it. Cheers, Lee."
