nboldock 13th Jun 2017		CD Album The Dead Reckoners - A Night Of Reckoning (1997)	It's an outstanding album, this. I bought it in a charity shop without a clue what it was just because it looked good. 50p well spent - highly recommended.
nboldock 31st May 2017		CD Album Oasis - Sunday Times Sampler CD (2002)	It isn't titled "Heathen Chemistry" even though it has the artwork from that album and, I'd be tempted to just call it "Oasis" as it doesn't appear to have its own title as such.

nboldock 21st Apr 2017		CD Album Various Artists - Three Minute Heroes (2017)	Album released to support the youth mental health project of the same name. All the songs are based on lyrics written by young people - find out more on the project here - http://threeminuteheroes.com/. You can also buy the CD on the website (or download it for free or "pay what you can"). Brilliant project. Scans to follow later...

Allegedly a true story about Lal getting pished in Hull's Pearson Park... a tradition that hasn't been forgotten, really (been there, done that...) [YouTube Video]
nboldock 11th Jan 2017		CD Album Jody McKenna - Eastbound (2017)	Really talented singer songwriter from Hull. Big Dylan influence writ large but this is very much Jody's own sound - strong guitar playing, great vocals and solid lyrics. Quality. Buy it here if you please.

nboldock 17th Nov 2016		CD Album Soda - Artificial Flavour (2016)	Good question - if anything they're somewhere between early Suede and Shed Seven (the latter they toured with). Pick of the album for me is "Dragging You Into My Dreams" which was their final single back in the day (it's on 45Cat). Talking of 45Cat their first single "Slave To The Fashion Page" is missing - it was an indie release prior to their signing to Fontana and I haven't got a copy... yet!
nboldock 17th Nov 2016		CD Album Soda - Artificial Flavour (2016)	Soda were a Hull britpop band who recorded this album back in 1995/1996 when they were signed to Mercury/Fontana. Unlucky timing for them - the Britpop bubble burst before the album was released and Mercury pulled the plug on it. 20 years later they're releasing it themselves - I've got a preview copy and it's a cracking album. They'll be publicising links to buy on their Twitter page @sodabritpopband with the CD to be released on November 20th. Some tracks were released as singles/B sides but the remainder are completely unreleased until now. I'm only adding the front cover scan for now as it isn't out yet - other scans once it's released.

nboldock 16th Oct 2016		CD Album Snake Eye - The Journey (2016)	Snake Eye recorded their album "The Journey" back in 1971 but it remained unreleased until now. Guitarist Ron Hales has formed a new version of Snake Eye for live dates (they played in Hull last night to coincide with the CD launch - and they were fantastic).

A superb, and important collection of historic music from Hull and East Yorkshire.
