ppint. 12th Jul 2017		CD Album The Idle Race - Back To The Story (1996)	in the booklet's detailed account of the band's history and recordings, it notes that "worn red carpet" (2-06) was mis-titled "warm red carpet" on its original liberty uk single release (as the b-side of LBF15218).

ppint. 10th Jul 2017		CD Album Gladys Knight And The Pips - Motown Anthology	i have only the disc, in rather poor condition, neither front nor rear printed inserts: track-listing and bar-code number taken from an "amazon shop" listing. track 05 may in fact be "i want him to say it again" written by johnny bristol, harvey fuqua & william franklin guest; and track 14 may be "(the) end of our road", written by norman whitfield, barrett strong & roger penzabene.
ppint. 10th Jul 2017		CD Album Robert Johnson - The Complete Collection (2008)	this set ought to be identical with the cbs (later columbia/sony) two-cd set, "robert johnson • the complete recordings" (1990) (q.v.), and it maybe is: but the cbs set gives "milkcow's calf blues - take 3" & "... take 4", where this gives "milkcow's calf blues" & "... (alt. version - take 2)". - i understand & amn't bothered by slight variations in title, but precisely which takes are on the two different music corporations' two-cd sets may well matter to dedicated aficionados of the blues.

ppint. 17th Jun 2017		CD Album Otis Redding - Otis Blue / Otis Redding Sings Soul (1991)	the workaround would be to add the individual albums in an omnibus/boxed set separately, by their individual disc cat#s, and link these to the other editions of the single albums separately. it would be good to have places to list the cat#s of the individual discs contained within boxed sets (and other omnibus releases) separately from the boxed set cat#, with the space to include the associated title, if any (not all such sets maintain a one disc-to-one album relationship). but no way is each and ever single album contained within a boxed set or omnibus of two or more different albums identical with the whole boxed set or omnibus!° ° - if it were, then every boxed set in the wea "five original albums" series would contain five boxed sets of the five original albums within it, each one set of which would contain a further set of the five original albums within it, each one set of which... :-))
ppint. 16th Jun 2017		CD Album Otis Redding - Otis Blue / Otis Redding Sings Soul (1991)	m'm'mlade: "ita est!" - when using the linked (records, generally) feature at the bottom of the page, it specifically states at the start of the process that it is for linking identical (records). - yr hmbl srppnt.'s happy enough for this to include a version of an album whose title differs, though the track-listing contained thereon does not; for it to include a version of an album where one or two tracks were swapped out from the original for alternate titles or takes - so long as this is specified in the "notes" section; where one or two tracks were dropped from the original - again, so long as this is specified in the "notes" section: but surely not where the album contains (say) less than 75% of the original album, or the original album is less than 75% of the new version purported to be identical - and srppnt.ly° not where it comprises a mere minor fraction of an omnibus including several other albums! - links in the text of comments, reviews & notes e.g. to the omnibus from and back to the included albums listings on 45worlds; yes, indubitabubbly; but not false and misleading assignments of an identity that does not exist! ° - sorry; someone told yr hmbl srppnt. i really must stop ending similar sentences with "shirley". . .

ppint. 29th May 2017		CD Album Nina Simone - Forbidden Fruit / Sings Ellington (2013)	the composer credits are printed below the second page of liner-notes in a very small, poorly-spaced type; some differ from those given on the original colpix (and other editions') lp sleeves by e.g. the omission of a name, or the inversion of the names' order; the year of the recording of "forbidden fruit" is given on the rear inlay and card slip-cover as 1962 - the year after colpix records released the album. . .
ppint. 29th May 2017		CD Album Oasis - Sunday Times Sampler CD (2002)	some - not actually many, that i've met - were indeed intended to promote forthcoming tours by the bands in question, and some of these, sales of a cd album simultaneous with the tour; but contrariwise, yr hmbl srppnt. is extremely doubtful many oasis fans had the faintest idea an already-released cd album would be bundled with that weekend/fortnight/month's issue of the sunday times, or the new statesman, or fox & hounds (or whatever) - nor be checking out the cover of the week's issue of the radio times, or jackie, nor true confessions, nor readers' wives°, just in case there was an oasis cd they'd already bought bundled with it. . . ° - though they may've been in the habit of checking out this last - for other reasons, it prob'ly wasn't, in the newsagents... (- does "tit-bits" still exist? we used to see copies when my big & little brothers had to go to the barber's for their beginning-of-school-termly (?) haircuts - and nowhere else) (dentists had "punch", and "the lady", and "the new elizabethan", and the doctor's had some of these, and "country life" iirc, and the "reader's digest"; and either might have "private eye" - but never the occasional/christmas flex-idisc...)
ppint. 29th May 2017		CD Album Mariah Carey - MTV Unplugged EP (1992)	28 minutes and 44 seconds - so, over five minutes longer than the album, the best of tim hardin - ? - maybe the best of tim hardin needs 45catting as a 12" single-or-ep. . .
ppint. 29th May 2017		CD Album Aretha Franklin - Aretha Now (1993)	philmh: because it wasn't a success then, doesn't necessarily mean it wouldn't work now; - but it does need to be implemented in a way that can cope with partial information being input initially, and with clear (short°) explanations of the distinctions between (e.g.) "where bought", "where manufactured", and "where intended to be distributed (with clickable/tappable link to a list of the abbreviations like biem, gema, mcps, sabam, siae etc, and which countries they indicate)", - so people just beginning to "cd-cat" or "modern-era-lpcat" their collections can be reasonably confident they're not getting it wrong - and be right about this! - an option that brought up very close°° matches to items one's proposing to add could be/would be both useful in reducing duplication - and potentially extremely irritating if it kept on cutting in whilst one was keying - a "try it now" radio button, plus a switchable-off automagical run attached to "submit" might be best - ? ° - so yr hmbl srppnt.'s first attempts at phraseology should _not_ be accepted uncritically °° - how close is close? - "real close..." (lieber-stoller-possibly-morton - no?)
ppint. 28th May 2017		CD Album Oasis - Sunday Times Sampler CD (2002)	yes: e.g. at university radio york, we definitely did not pay for apcs from the record companies°; whereas, ttbomk, everyone has to pay for their copy of the issue of the newspaper or whatever that the cd or dvd comes bundled with - even if these are not physically attached. ° - though from time-to-time, someone had to write and confirm - on properly mastheaded paper - that we still existed, and still played their records, and still wished to receive these and their pr sheets - and for a year, this someone was mostly yr hmbl srppnt. . .

ppint. 28th May 2017		CD Album Oasis - Sunday Times Sampler CD (2002)	um. but the normal 45cat, 33cat, etc. usage of promo is to indicate an apc - advance promotional copy - or a dj promo copy - disc-jockey promotional copy - or a radio promotional copy - of a single (or an album) promoting the present or forthcoming on-sale release or "stock" copy of musical recordings - which these almost never are. these cds & dvds are much closer to the special editions produced for sale to readers digest magazine subscribers and newsstand buyers (if these still exist), and as used to be available to subscribers to and newsagent customers of "private eye". . . - and the doctor who cds of radio series' episodes can't possibly have promoted the sales of the daily wail (was it? or the stun?), or the radio times... - can they?
ppint. 20th May 2017		CD Album Wet Wet Wet - Wet Wet Wet (2006)	the two volumes were not distributed together, but separately, a week apart; consequently, it is perfectly possible to have either volume from (& as) new without the other - as yr hmbl srppnt. has #1/2 - and there is no cd nor cd sleeve with the cat# "bp-31794/bp-31795" - so the two should be listed separately-but-consecutively (by date of release and by cat#) here.
