| Doccus 6th Mar 2024 |  | CD AlbumThe Jimi Hendrix Experience - Live At Woburn | This is the only Dagger entry that even has a front cover shot, although the booklet is, sadly, missing. The rest don't even have that. If anyone has any of these releases that can remedy this sad situation.. ideally with all the booklets included, that would be wonderful. I will be occupied creating the Purple Haze entries, since they're not even in the system!. |
| Doccus 1st Jan 2024 |  | CD AlbumThe Guess Who - Let's Go | Your observation of the old wide stereo mixes vs the new ""stereo"-ie mono, ones is right on target, and a sorry state of afairs it it.. Once these tapes have been digitally masterd, we're stuck with whatever the mixer deemed appropriate, and it seems to oftem be a near mono mix, relegating the spacious stereo mixes forever gone. Usually they also mix the remaster lous as possible destroying any dynamic range.. and then it's permanently ruined.. like the (somewhat) recent who remasters.. |
| Doccus 23rd Aug 2023 |  | CD AlbumVarious Artists - Stax 50th Anniversary Celebration | I have two copies.. one came in a box with a DVD (dated 2007) and one in the 2CD jewel case (dated 2008). THe one I got in a box was used, so it's unclear if I got the full package.. I have a 2 page insert with a collage inside and credits on the rear, but no liner notes of any kind. In the credits it states "Liner notes by Rob Bowman". However there are no liner notes. I don't know if the previous owner lost them or what? The one in the jewel case has a 12 page booklet with photographs and tracks listed in the middle pages, but again. no liner notes. However, this one does NOT reference any "liner notes written by Rob Bowman".. indeed, as there are none. There's also one dated 2007 that comes in a box with no DVD.. Does anyone know if this one *does* come with liner notes? Did the one with DVD come with liner notes? Thanks... |
