George Slv 11th Apr 2023 | | CinemaPlatinum High School (1960) (1960) | I see three different edits listed for the film. 1:35 original at IMDB, 1:33 video from The Video Beat, and 1:31 for the 1993 VHS release.
I saw a TV showing in the 1990s but did not keep it. I recall a couple of references that I don't see in the current video. The title song was cut from that showing. It sounds like a bunch of fancy cutting for this film.
Currently the complete Video Beat edition is available on Youtube.

George Slv 11th Apr 2023 | | CinemaPlatinum High School (1960) (1960) | About the poster for Trouble At 16. It mentions Banned. I perceive this is referring to the story involving killing a student by hitting him on the neck with a baseball bat. I'd agree this is too blatant violence for a film, even if it's only spoken of. Was the film banned in 1960 in some places?

George Slv 11th Apr 2023 | | CinemaPlatinum High School (1960) (1960) | Some points of interest for music fans:
Conway Twitty was a major rock & roll star at the time for MGM, who made this movie.
Jimmy Boyd as one of Twitty's gang is the pop singer who had hits like I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus and Dennis The Menace.
Cliff Edwards has a small role. For Walt Disney he did the voice of Jimminy Cricket and sang the song When You Wish Upon A Star.

George Slv 5th Oct 2022 | | CinemaThe Amorous Adventures Of Moll Flanders (1965) (1965) | Some comments about the titles credit for music.
The shot of Kim in a bedsheet shows a scene that has been cut from all video releases for some reason. At about 45 minutes she is changing while Richard Johnson is waiting in the kitchen. It's a bit sensuous but not revealing.
Before video releases I had a TV recording of the original edition that had this. One of my strokes of bad luck was when I decided to record a better quality Bravo telecast over that tape spot, assuming it would be the same. The telecast was the new edit. Who knows what other bits are missing.
A similar thing happened to me when Tom Jones was reedited.
Would anyone have an original edition of this Moll?
It's also not being released on any disc format. Maybe too raunchy for America?

I'll bet there might be enuf interest for Paramount to issue a Blu-ray of this. For AR 2.35 you'd need that extra resolution.

George Slv 21st Sep 2021 | | CinemaC'mon, Let's Live A Little (1967) (1967) | Twistin, I've taken that into account. The copyright date is SUPPOSED TO BE the date of first publication, not production. The albums are listed as 1966. The IMDB date was somebody's reference to some New York showing in 1967. I'm taking issue with IMDB.
On the other hand: I've found the New York Times REVIEW from May 4, 1967 saying the movie opened yesterday. That actually should settle it.
This suggests the studio doesn't know how to use copyright dates, that nobody on the web knew what they were talking about, and all the album dates are nonsense.

George Slv 21st Sep 2021 | | CinemaC'mon, Let's Live A Little (1967) (1967) | There is too much confusion about the date. Sources always say 1967. But the title screen says 1966 so I've submitted that. A soundtrack date of 1966 should be correct, but someone also said 1965.
This film can be found at Internet Archive. Also the musical soundtrack if you dig into the files, which can be downloaded.

|
George Slv 3rd Apr 2021 | | CinemaTreasure Island (1999) | Since it was a UK production I'd expect it to be 1.66.
This film is not even listed in Maltin's book. Leonard Leonard ...

George Slv 3rd Jan 2020 | | CinemaThe Phantom Of The Opera (1962) | Posted a title screen at the original 1.66 shape. From an A&E showing that showed the titles in 1.66 (lbx), the rest in 1.33. From my VHS tape. You won't find anything else in this original UK release shape.
A&E made various trims to the film so it ended up 1:11 instead of 1:24, to fit a 1:30 time slot.

George Slv 26th Sep 2018 | | CinemaThe Old Dark House (1963) | Why does it say "El Caserón Misterioso" as English title. The field wasn't meant to be used that way.
This was first filmed in 1932 with famous personnel like James Whale and Boris Karloff, as a quirky horror mystery. This one was a project of William Castle of US, using the production services of Hammer in England. Like the first it mixes humor with the story, not very effectively. Poston comes off as an empty head.

George Slv 10th Mar 2018 | | CinemaКнязь Игорь (Prince Igor ) (1971) (1971) | It seems that the correct phonetic pronunciation is Ihor. That's the Ukrainian pronunciation, and the title credit seems to use the same letter. Prince Ihor was of the Norsemen who established Kiev (Kyiv) in Ukraine, and has become part of "Ukrainian" history.

My image above showing cropping is not correct. It turns out the 4:3 TV edition was cropped from the 1.66 widescreen, so there is a lot more image on the sides.

This video is the right shape, but on the disc release the preview turns out a little too wide.

George Slv 28th Apr 2017 | | CinemaC'mon, Let's Live A Little (1967) (1967) | I got the VD DVD taken off AMC. It's 4:3 cropped and shortened from 1:24 to 1:10. Two songs of Jackie's are missing, a bikini dance scene, and whatever else. Kim Carnes is at the teen TV stage here, called Mellie as the girlfriend of the dean's son.

The movie does somewhat satisfy the desire to get out into scenic country.

George Slv 8th Sep 2016 | | CinemaScared Stiff (1953) (1953) | This is one that seemed too long for the subject. It's about a haunted mansion that someone inherits, but they don't get to it until 1:20 in the film. Then 20 minutes at that house and movie ends at 1:40. You wish they had spent much more time at the house. They could have cut out all that routine of gangsters at the hotel.
Carmen Miranda is featured in musical numbers, before the time when she became embarrassed into leaving the US.
