Legends Of Comedy - BBC 2 Entertain (2009)
3 great dramas from the BBC titled Legends Of Comedy, quite how you could call Hughie Green a comedian though is beyond me. Nevertheless Trevor Eve puts in a fantastic performance here as Hughie, just brilliant.

Battle Of The V.1 - Renown Pictures Limited (2012)
This is truly awful and the colorizing looks like it was done by a 2 year old. Some scenes only have the characters colourized while the rest of the backdrop is still black & white. It also says "Digitally Restored and Remastered", I would take it they mean that in the loosest possible sense ie taken from a film and digitally encoded to a disc and nothing in between. Avoid at all costs

This show is a great example of nature filming. It is stunning in the extreme and thoroughly recommended to anybody who likes nature programs. It's simply a "Must See"

High Anxiety - 20th Century Fox (2010)
I would be biased in my opinion of this movie as it was the first Mel Brooks film I ever saw and even though Young Frankenstein is good I think this is one of the cleverest and funniest movies ever. Madeline Khan in this film is superb as was Cloris Leachman and Harvey Korman. The remastered 5.1 soundtrack is also worth having.

The Galton And Simpson Playhouse - Network (2009)
Originally done in 1977 this is a great collection of seven Galton & Simpson plays to have. The three I particularly remembered are still as good today as they were then. They were

Car Along The Pass starring Arthur Lowe
Swap You One Of These for One Of Those starring Richard Briers
I Tell You It's Burt Reynolds starring Leonard Rossiter

Just great seeing them again

Abigail's Party - BBC (2003)
Superb Play from 1977. It's just how I remember the 70's. If you like a bit of time travel there isn't a better way to get you there.

Reggie Perrin : Series 2 - BBC 2 Entertain (2010)
I never thought this would work after the Leonard Rossiter series "The Fall & Rise Of Reginald Perrin" but remarkably it did. It slightly changed things and in the process created something that wasn't trying to be just a rip-off from the original. All the cast are pretty amazing and I don't think there's a dud character in it. Well worth a watch if you've never seen it

The McCartney Years - Warner Music Entertainment (2007)
Although quite good, this set represents to me a missed opportunity for the release of the Back To The Egg Videos in their entirety. Quite possibly the best thing he did on video and it didn't appear.

The Killing Of Sister George - Prism Leisure (2001)
For me Beryl Reid was at the peak of her game around this period. Absolutely brilliant performance from her. This along with Entertaining Mr Sloane would be two of my favourite movies from this period in the 60's
