Billy Two 23rd May 2015		Live Music Guided By Voices @ Astoria 2 (1999)	I don't remember the date being changed either, but that's not to say it wasn't ! I wonder if it was anything to do with the pig's ear that was made of the Hold On Hope single release (withdrawn when Creation Records ceased functioning...). After this show, I managed to peel a big promo "Do The Collapse" sticker off of a hoarding along Charing Cross Road, and it was attached to the end of my bed for a decade or so.
Billy Two 26th Apr 2015		Live Music Marillion @ Olympia 2 (1986)	Carefully billed as "Members Of Marillion And Friends", as far as I know this is the only show Marillion have ever played without Steve Rothery on guitar, as he was off on his honeymoon at the time. Robin Boult stepped in to do the honours, and they played around a 30 min greatest hits set to a crowd of ardent fans who'd spent a couple of hours beforehand trawling round the stalls of the British Music Fair trying to locate where the freebie industry only tickets had been distributed. Around 20 mins before the set was due to start. myself and a couple of friends practically mugged a guy with tickets who was umming and ahhing about whether he was interested in going in - we made his decision for him, pronto.
Billy Two 26th Apr 2015		Live Music Hawkwind @ Brixton Academy (1989)	Just found the event programme/pamphlet and have altered the running order according. 20 min sets for the first few bands and 10 min changeovers - hectic !! Tubilah Dog don't appear to have played ? The Pink Fairies Psychedelic Rock Revue consisted of : Flying Colours with Mick Farren and The Bandanna Club with Larry Wallis Lesbian Dopeheads On Mopeds were, of course, Gaye Bykers On Acid in disguise.

Billy Two 6th Apr 2015		Live Music Cooler @ The Aquarium, Old Street (1998)	So I went to see a band called Cooler at a venue called The Aquarium in Oct '98. I have no memory of either the band, the venue, or any idea of why I would have been there in the first place. But as it is written, so it shall be (listed).
Billy Two 6th Apr 2015		Live Music Knownothing @ Arena Club, Drury Lane (1995)	As far as I'm aware, this was the one and only UK appearance of Roy Montgomery, founder member of The Pin Group who released the first record on New Zealand's legendary Flying Nun label. Him, a cheap guitar, a wall of echo, and a quite hypnotisingly wonderful 25 min set. There was talk of him doing a live date or two guesting for Flying Saucer Attack, but this did not appear to happen.
Billy Two 6th Apr 2015		Live Music The Wise Wound @ Worthy Farm (1995)	This gig was in the same tent I saw Cheapsuit O'Roonies in the next night. There would have been loads of other acts on as well, but I didn't catch any of their names. Gah, what was that tent called ?? Something like "Madame Crone's Old Brew Shoppe" or something like that.
Billy Two 6th Apr 2015		Live Music Glastonbury 1995 (Friday) @ Worthy Farm (1995)	On this day there were also performances from Cheapsuit O'Roonies (including Ozric Tentacles members) and Tofu Love Frogs. My notes do not recall the where or whens, but I think O'Roonies were in an outlying cafe tent in the middle of the night, while Tofu Love Frogs played a set in the middle of the Circus Field.

Billy Two 29th Mar 2015		Live Music Hawkwind @ Brixton Academy (1989)	I still have the large, lurid pink advertising poster to this somewhere. During Here And Now's set I became convinced I was watching The Spencer Davis Group. For various reasons.
Billy Two 28th Mar 2015		Live Music Girlschool @ Music Machine (1979)	Support band Urchin had both Dave Murray and Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden as original/early members ! (though not sure if either of them were still in the band at the time of this gig...)
Billy Two 27th Mar 2015		Live Music Foetal Connectionne @ Mean Fiddler [Harlesden] (1994)	Those Mean Fiddler tickets would be sent out to bands, who would then be required to get a certain amount of people to hand them in on the door to have a chance of earning any money from the gig. As a result, bands would copy them by the dozen/hundred/thousand and scattershot them across London in the hope that stray punters would take a risk, or just use the concession price to get in cheap. This was generally a classic counterproductive tactic, as 99% of the time far more money would be spent on copying and distributing the tickets than would actually be recouped up by anyone actually turning up with one !
Billy Two 26th Mar 2015		Live Music Glastonbury 1995 (Saturday) @ Worthy Farm (1995)	Ooh, and I've a feeling that Lonnie Donegan made a guest appearance with Billy Bragg on the same stage. I've no evidence for this though, and I would have been completely addled at that point, so, you know...don't take my word for this.
Billy Two 26th Mar 2015		Live Music Glastonbury 1995 (Saturday) @ Worthy Farm (1995)	Re : Acoustic Stage - Evan Dando may have played the earlier set as well, but he also made one of the most ill advised "spontaeneous" appearances of his career when he bumbled onstage later in the evening as a massive crowd were impatiently waiting for Portishead to make a rare early appearance (possibly only their second live show ?? I may have that wrong, though). The baying mob were not in the mood for airy, hippy strumming. The unquiet murmurs soon turned to slow hand clapping, then open vocal abuse. A few glasses started to fly, and though slow at first to take the hint, Evan was very soon gone. Portishead finally came on bloody ages later, and were absolutely magnificent.
Billy Two 25th Mar 2015		Live Music Men Diamler @ The New Adelphi (2014)	I'd thought Men Diamler had ceased playing live ? Glad to see he hasn't - a performer of high talent and uniqueness. Would have liked to be at this gig anyhow, just to catch "Beaming Porn Through Nuns". Sometimes it's worth paying entrance for the name alone

Billy Two 4th Mar 2015		Live Music Magma @ Royal Festival Hall (2003)	One of those weird thing...how often do I go to gigs at The Royal Festival Hall ? Not often is the answer. Yet back in early 2003 I went to four in four weeks ?! (see also Camper Van Beethoven, Peter Hammill and Robyn Hitchcock...)

Billy Two 3rd Mar 2015		Live Music Godspeed You! Black Emperor @ Union Chapel (1999)	I was at this show - totally agree. I saw GYBE's first UK gig at the Garage a year or so earlier...they were all packed on a smallish stage with a low ceiling, and the sound was reduced to an outward sonic blast more akin to a Hawkwind gig. The Union Chapel allowed the whole show to really reverberate and breath. There was one particular track where, coupled with the epic crescendo-ing of Godspeed, for a number of minutes the projection screens showed on rotation a dog rolling around against a black background, as if it were falling through space. Little in the much visited realm of post-rock ever touched this peak again.

Billy Two 1st Mar 2015		Live Music David Lowery And Johnny Hickman @ The Prince Albert (2010)	An icy lunchtime in Brighton. While loading in, David Lowery slips and lands on his wrist. He and Johnny still play a two hour set to rapturous response then he goes to hospital to find that the badly swollen wrist is fractured and needs pinning, and plays the rest of the tour with the arm in a sling. Heroic stuff.
Billy Two 1st Mar 2015		Live Music LaHost @ The Marquee Club [Soho] (1985)	A launch party for LaHost's debut (and only) single. Geoff Mann (ex-Twelfth Night singer) supported solo...always entertaining.
Billy Two 1st Mar 2015		Live Music Dinosaur Jr. @ Hammersmith Clarendon Ballroom (1987)	Dinosaur's second UK gig, widely billed as being by The Dinosaurs. I had ticket 017 to this at the time (I'd estimate 50 - 60 attendance), but it got left at my parents house when I moved out and was destroyed when their garage flooded.
Billy Two 1st Mar 2015		Live Music Primal Scream @ ULU (1987)	Dinosaur Jr's first ever UK gig, The Boy Hairdresser turned into Teenage Fanclub, and Primal Scream turned into Britpop hierachy, so a good one to be at this one.
Billy Two 24th Feb 2015		Live Music Procol Harum @ Winterland (1967)	It wasn't a particularly serious suggestion. I agree that Floyd not playing can be mentioned in Notes - I've already done this on a number entries I've added so far.
