CarmenC 14th Dec 2016 | | Live MusicFoetal Connectionne @ Mean Fiddler [Harlesden] | It was in '94 not '83! I played bass guitar in this band in the early nineties. Billy Two is bang-on about the tickets - it was the norm at that time and I remember handing them out to all and sundry for our gigs at other venues too. Like every band on earth, we thought we were the bees knees (I still do!). We failed to conquer the world by Friday but had a blast playing the London circuit of smoky, beery sh*tholes, most of which are probably demolished or tarted up beyond recognition now. Some I recall were the Sir George Robey in Finsbury Park, the Swan in Tottenham, the Rock Garden in Covent Garden, Water Rats in King's Cross, the Garage in Islington and one in Stoke Newington whose name escapes me (venue entrance was on Church Street and the adjoining pub entrance was on the High Street). We got to record a single that was played on the then-brilliant xfm. The band's name is spelled correctly by the way. I hated it but it was coined by the guy who was the songwriter/lead vox/lead guitar/financier and his songs were bloody brilliant so I reckoned I should live with it. So... your ticket is worth f*ck-all to a collector but seeing it here has made my day - cheers!
