Tommy McLain - I Ran Down Every Dream
This is a superb album by Tommy. Supporting musicians include Van Dyke Parks, Elvis Costello, Warren Storm, Augie Meyers, and a host more.

Jackie DeShannon - You Won't Forget Me
Jackie DeShannon recorded "Try to forget him" in 1961, although her version didn't appear until this "You won't forget me" album came out in 1965. P J Proby put out a single on Liberty of "Try to forget her", in 1961. Proby's song is ponderous and recalls Roy Orbison. Jackie's is bright and suggests Bobby Vee. Proby's says it was written by Dick Glasser. DeShannon's says that she wrote the song. Despite vastly different arrangements and a change of gender, they are the same song!

Now, who can work that one out?

Cilla Black - Cilla 1963-1973 The Abbey Road Decade
Track 3-10, "Only you can free my mind" is indicated on this release as Composer Unknown. In fact it was written by Jackie DeShannon, whose own demo of the song was released on the Ace album "Break-A-Way" (2008).

Who, I wonder, is Gallico who "wrote" this version of "House of the Rising Sun"?

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
I have just noticed (after very many years) that my copy of this album has the title "Sgs. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band" on the spine of the gatefold sleeve. Is this a misprint, or a rarity, and should I be excited?

Jackie DeShannon - Don't Turn Your Back On Me / This Is Jackie DeShannon
This is a strange one. The same CD was released on the same label, with almost identical packaging, in 2005. However it is also advertised as a new release, and bears the copyright date of 2022 on the cover and insert.

Sammi Smith - Looks Like Stormy Weather · 1969-1975
A fairly sombre set of reflective songs, though the previously unreleased "Desperados waiting for a train" is amazing.

Bob Fox And Stu Luckley - Box Of Gold
Their original record company failed to make their (excellent) albums available into the CD era, and so Bob and Stu re-recorded the material almost identically, note for note. Sounds a bit familiar, Taylor Swift?

This has to be one of the first albums devoted to covers of Bob Dylan's songs (although some might question his authorship of "Corinna").

Thank you Hideki Watanabe for providing the production and musician details. I am assuming that these were on an insert with the original album; I have just bought a nice second hand copy and I was wondering who the musicians were.

It's both lazy and disrespectful for albums such as this not to include composer / songwriter credits. The "project co-ordinator", Paul Fernandes, gets himself a mention however.
