I was at a recent lecture at Abbey Road studios, and they revealed that "Rockin' Chair" was the very first recording made at Abbey Road when it opened in 1931. It's generally accepted that Sir Edward Elgar with the London Symphony Orchestra made the first recording, which was filmed for the opening of the studios. But it seems that this Paul Robeson recording was made shortly before the Elgar one.
Demo A side label now added (B side label is blank). It came in a plain white album inner type sleeve with the same sticker as the A side label. It has the same versions of tracks as the standard 12".
