Sharon Quigley 7th Oct 2018		12" Single Da' Half Mad' Irishman - What 'Bout Ye !! (First International Alternative Song Contest)	The funny thing is that they should have been disqualified because guitarist Gerry Quigley from Raw Deal actually played guitar in the live version, in the actual song contest. We have the film footage. It's hilarious. (Gerry's brother Fran ran McGonagles at the time and he had the whole event filmed) We laughed all the way through. About halfway through watching it Gerry said "Hey I think I was actually there that night". Then The Half Mad Irishmen came on and we couldnt stop laughing when we saw Gerry playing. He was on another planet, so were the rest of the band by that point as they were last act for the night. They over-did the stage fog and at one point you could barely see the tops of the bands heads as they were head banging away with mad guitar riffs. When the song stopped, Gerry Quigley wouldnt stop playing and it was a mad effort trying to get him to stop. Would have been a great party afterwards alright.
