musicmasters 12th Oct 2022		Cassette Single Talking Heads - Take Me To The River / Psycho Killer (1981)	9 years after posting, I have found the boxes, but the cassettes themselves were put in proper plastic boxes, so are still missing at the moment, but the chances of finding them have gone up, so expect to see the cassette images soon

musicmasters 22nd Feb 2013		Cassette Single Big Country - One Great Thing (Big Baad Country Mix) / Song Of The South (1986)	unusually in 1986, this cassette single was sold separately whereas most cassette singles were being shrinkwrapped as freebies with 7 inch singles The only other notable separate cassette singles from this time were from artists such as Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Propaganda, and Peter Gabriel - a couple of years on and everything was being issued on "cassingles" as well as on 7 inch, 12 inch and cd singles - as part of the 'format wars' to gain chart entries. it was a great time for collectors (if you could afford all the formats) One Great Thing came out on four 7 inch formats plus at least 2 different 12" singles as well as this cassette - strangely they never thought to do CD singles of this one...
musicmasters 11th Jan 2013		Cassette Single B.E.F. - Music For Stowaways (1981)	this is indeed an album that was only released on cassette - a "Stowaway" is the short lived name for personal cassette players, the generic name taken from Sony is 'Walkman' B.E.F. are basically the same as Heaven 17 - track 4 became their first single as (We Don't Need This Fascist) Groove Thang, track 8 was also a Heaven 17 B side. The catalogue number is the clue that this is in fact an album "TCV 2888" - generally Virgin cassette singles are in the format VSC followed by either 3 or 4 numbers hopefully the admins will leave this here as it's unusual in that there wasn't a matching commercial release on 12" vinyl
musicmasters 11th Jan 2013		Cassette Single Talking Heads - Take Me To The River / Psycho Killer (1981)	there are at least 10 cassette singles in this series with the SPC cat. no.s - it was an early experiment almost 5 years before the record companies tried again. Other releases that I have are by The Ramones, Gary Numan and Pretenders - basically acts on the Sire/WEA/Warner Bros. and Beggars Banquet labels at the time I'll add the others if I can find them, although I haven't seen them for quite a few years
