(yr hmbl srppint. doesn't recall ever seeing any island label 8-track carts°, but they were advertised. . .) ° - they weren't mfd by island, nor by emi - iirc, all island group tapes were precision/prt-manufactured through this period

ppint. 4th Sep 2015		Cassette Album Howlin' Wolf - Howlin' Wolf (1991)	this is one of those occasions when being advised of the names & recording dates, etc, really wouldn't reduce the desirability of the tape (or lp, or cd, or large, pink, india-rubber frying-pan°...) tring'd produced - so long as it really was howlin' wolf, of course, and the sidemen weren't totally incompetent: and might even increase demand if they are later recordings, or alternate takes. howlin' wolf fans, and original bluesmen fish in general, want pretty well all the available variorum they can lay their sticky paws upon (and afford, of course). (° - so long as playback systems for the format in question remain in circulation)
ppint. 2nd Sep 2015		Cassette Album Arlene Saunders, Helen Vanni, Eugene Fodor, Erich Leinsdorf And Boston Symphony Orchestra And Chorus - Mendelssohn: Violin Concerto • A Midsummer Night's Dream (1992)	mod(s): the artist credit line given for the cassette as a whole is (sic), and possibly "stet!" - but *wrong* (incomplete, and seriously misleadingly so): that given for the track-listings is correct, and follows the more detailed information on the rear of the printed-paper insert, as well as that printed on the cassette shell. - i do not know whether the artist's credit field for the cassette as a whole - and therefore, the 45worlds' listing of it - should be corrected, and leave a definitive decision upon this to one (or more) mod(s) - is klepsie handy, to be given this potentially hot potato ?

ppint. 25th Aug 2015		Cassette Album Procol Harum - Greatest Hits Volume 1	n.b. the correct composer credits for side 1, track 1 (not as given on card inlay) have been determined to be "brooker, fisher, reid". procol harum did not release a track entitled "glimpse of nirvana". (part of "in held twas in i", the track occupying most of side 2 of their album, "shine on brightly", is "glimpses of nirvana" - it is unclear from the card inlay whether the track on this pickwickian cassette is a mis-titling of the track as recorded and released, a mis-titling of an excerpt from it, or. . . something else. . .°) (° - timings and listenings might reveal which)

ppint. 27th Jul 2015		Cassette Album Eric Clapton - Layla (1970)	woopswoops - the tablettything's struck again! track 01 is "let it rain - 5.17", not "let it rainrain - 5.17" (the tablettything tried to ";correct" my re-typing its mistake, to "maintain"... - if it doesn't want me to type it - why did it auto-mis-correct "rain" to "rainrain" in the first place?) (and the less said about its insertion of an unwanted apostrophe into "timings"...) (corrections submitted) (*hmph* i think something very strange is happening in/to tablettything's buffers.)

ppint. 21st Jul 2015		Cassette Album Various Artists - Tchaikovsky: Swan Lake • The Sleeping Beauty • Prokofiev: Romeo & Juliet	i think the editing of the track titles for this compilation was something less than thorough, precise or accurate: "scène" is not a description, and nor is "pas d'action" at all helpful in identifying the selected excerpt. presumably roller-blading yuppies with walkmen® (? "walkmans®" ?) were deemed incapable of discernment, as well as discrimination between one movement excerpted from a romantic ballet's incidental music, and another. . .

King: The King Of The Blues (1992)	on reflection, i think the bar-code & issn were on the printed poly bag, not the front (or back) cover of the printed-paper part of the monthly zine: it'd need to've been different for each of the cd & cassette versions produced(?), and printing one- (or even two-) colour poly bags'd've been cheaper than two different four-colour print-runs of the high-gloss paper covers...
ppint. 17th Jul 2015		Cassette Album Tammy Wynette - The Best Of Tammy Wynette	on the original 1968 cbs lp (& merkin single on epic), "apartment number nine" is credited to tammy wynette as a solo artist; i don't believe that the track was re-recorded as a duet with david houston, and cannot hear his voice on the tape track - but it is so credited on the cassette card inlay.

ppint. 14th Jul 2015		Cassette Album Julian Bream, John Williams - Together (1973)	physical production quality: shoddy. if this is your sole "semi-hard" copy of the recordings, make a back-up copy the very first time you play this - if not sooner. (not least, because the plastic shell of the cassette is incompletely glued together - observed on more than just the one copy i own.)
