The Move link is not simple and reciprocal so it might be better if you add it by creating one or more biographies Andy. That would also work for Marillion
the only problem with having all of the elo variations on different lists means that you have to search for the exact title. if you search elo discovery it won't come up as it is the list where elo is written in full. equally electric light orchestra time won't come up as it in the E.L.O. list.
Is there any way this can changed so that all variations come up in the search results.

There is, but it's something we don't do as it causes more problems than it solves.
All name variations should have a hyperlink back to the Primary name discography (from their own discography pages) which is usually sufficient. (Obviously let us know if you spot any exceptions here, and we can fix).
okay thanks for the marillion link.
and just thinking if someone is looking for a specific album and search with the wrong elo variant they may think it doesn't exist.

Very few people will look for an album JUST by searching on the band name. A search for the album title or cat no would give it away.
Even if they searched on the wrong band name variation, clicking into that discography will lead them to the main one right enough.

We have, in our wisdom, decided that ELO should be entered either as E.L.O. or Electric Light Orchestra, but people keep adding ELO as a 'New Artist' so the new entries are orphaned from the correct discographies
I haven't follow the discussion, but I think JPGR&B has a point in this.
I think we shall use as much as possible in everyway in 45cat and in the other worlds.
That makes it easier for people to find what ever they are looking for.
So why E.L.O.?

But albums such as this have no dots between elo so people are going to add them or search for them as elo. When u search for them now u have to enter the dots. I don't think anyone would actually think to do that. They will search the quickest way elo
If we're going to have either ELO or E.L.O. and not both, then ELO is by far the better choice in my opinion. Use of full-stops is out-moded these days, and in any case, hardly ever used on the records. The search only returns four LPs, one of which is a boot.

I'll put my hands up to adding ELO not E.L.O. as that's what it said on the label.
If we can decide which one were going to use before I add any more I'm happy to go along with it.
Just found another artist link that needs sorting is on 78rpm world Elvis presley with the jordinaires doesn;t have a link back to the main elvis discography.

I seem to remember that a decision had been made to list all the Elvis 78s as "Elvis Presley", with any accompaniment listed in the notes.
