I miss many categories for magazines, and thus many magazines will end up 'none' or being placed in a category where they don't belong.
Science for example should be Science & Nature with subcategories: Environmental,Nature, Science
Some magazines under 'religion' should be added under hobby/collecting
'Women' is to big a category, subcategories should be 'bridal & weddings', fashion & beauty, home & cooking, pregnancy & family, women's health, women's interests
and so I could add a number of new or sub categories.

Agreed: the more titles we get the more categories we will need.
Currently it is a Moderator prerogative to choose a category, but I think we are going to need to give the choice to the contributors soon, with an expanding choice. The mods could of course check new entries and other members could comment or submit corrections if they disagree
Suggestions for categories always welcome However, just a note to say that we're trying to limit the number of categories, or else they will expand into the 1000s! This is why categories can't be set when adding a new magazine.

Expanding into the 1000s is big nonsense. On several sides on the web there is a good list of the categories we should have, and they don't even go beyond the 200. Two examples, the last one being the best
I took both those lists as a guideline but I didn't use everything on each list as some seemed to have very few publications.
Any glaring omissions?
Suggestions please.
We still need Childrens (or whatever it ends up being called) and we haven't got Fiction & Poetry or The Arts (or whatever they end up being called).
The Computers > Games > Nintendo category could just be Consoles (instead of Nintendo); there were/are certainly magazines about for Sega, XBox, Playstation and so on and so on. We could lump them all in one bucket.
Aside from that it's starting to take shape nicely, and I see some of our regular magazine contributors have done some sterling work allocating categories as well, which is great.
...all of which reminds me, I have a small stack of mags waiting to be added that I must get sorted at some point!
Some suggestions:
Fashion or Fashion & Style or Style & Fashion :)
LGBT
Literary
Then i think there's need to have a more generic category like Culture. Some magazines just write about everything: arts, music, style etc. and not any topic is really prevalent. Where would you put the i-D mag ? Maybe "Modern Culture" would be even better.
I guess also Entertainment may be needed for tabloid-like mags.
Plus a category for magazines with Crosswords, puzzles etc.

Have added...
Kids
Literature & Poetry
My thinking was that Nintendo and Apple fans are very partisan and would want their own sub sections.
Sega/Xbox/Playstation have much more crossover.
I could be making a rod for my own back though.

LGBT added
Not sure how to classify Crosswords etc.
Any suggestions?
Puzzles & Wordgames?
Seems reasonable.
Watch out for people suddenly adding random puzzle books though. Or are they magazines? I dunno... I suppose some of them are if they are regular publications etc etc...
