Can anyone advise on this? A couple of times I've reserved an image to edit, done the necessary, then uploaded the edited version from my desktop. However the version which arrives back is identical to the original (ie, unedited). This has happened a few times now. Is it a bug of some sort?
Yes, tried it - but I now think the problem is with my browser. It's not the cache, but something else screwing it up. I'll have to figure it out. Thanks.
No. Changed my mind again. I think it might be a bug. Could you check the two image edits waiting for approval in vinyl albums. That Pink Floyd one on Motown - my 'before' and 'after' images are identical, as if it hasn't been edited at all. That's exactly what happens when I do an edit. I just viewed it in a different browser completely, and it's the same.

It's showing someone else's edits to me (it says Sladesounds did them) but yeah, they look the same, can't actually see a difference.
Yes, they are someone else's. I tried cropping them first, saw mine were the same as the originals, and so deleted them again. Now Sladesound has had a go at the same images - same result it seems.

I had the same problem these days and refrained from editing for now.

Ah, I see, at least that explains one part of my confusion!
We'll have to wait for OC's take on it I guess.
As I recall from previous discussions it may just be a case of the image server not catching up as quickly as it might. I could be wrong though.
45worlds now has the same image caching as 45cat. However, there is a bug so that image edits don't tell the image server to stop caching the old version.
This is not a huge problem. The image has been updated and will eventually show the correct version, perhaps in days or even weeks. However, I will fix it so that edits immediately tell the image server to show the new version.

Terry didn't see that you already had a go before I started trying to edit them. Sorry about that. Steve
That's OK. I think it's impossible for two people to edit the same image. It's only because mine didn't work that they were still there in their original state, so up for grabs. Better two attempts than none, anyway!

Editing images on album world is different to 45cat? after editing an image on 45cat you can then go back to record and edit the B side or others of that record, but after editing an image on album world you get message
Edit Image
? The image has been edited. A moderator will check your edits.
You may not see the changes until you clear your browser cache.
If you don't know how to clear your browser cache, then please check this page:
http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cache
(Note that clearing your browser cache will also delete your cookies, thus logging you out of 45worlds),
which means you have to go and search for the record again to do any other edits, can we not have the same as 45cat?, also doing the F5 after will not refresh image.
1. When you edit an image, the image servers are notified that the image has changed, and that they should serve the new image. There may be a short delay while this happens. You can be assured that when you upload an edit, the edit has been made.
Remember that you may still need to clear the cache on your own computer too, to see the changes.
2. When you edit an image, there is a link back to the item.
