I was going back through some of the stuff I have listed and noticed on some items that the images have been drastically reduced in size as in this example. Are the images optimised after a certain period of time has elapsed automatically or has it happened accidentaly and is it prudent to re-scan and re-submit the images for replacement purposes
Thanks Juke Jules, Yes all my images are reduced to what the guideline specifies which is the maximum of 800px. The King Crimson example has definitely gone down in size. My main aim in uploading an image is to try and show as much detail as possible, the King Crimson images are reduced to the point where the labels are fuzzy when you view them. If it's Ok to replace them I will re-scan the album and upload newer images
Have they reduced in size after they were uploaded? Or do you mean during the uploading?
By the way, the site now has an automatic re-sizing function during uploading, so I always add big images - I never size them down. The uploader will make them smaller but still at the max acceptable. Give that a try maybe? Saves you a re-sizeing job, if nothing else.
This is most peculiar. There is no mechanism whereby an image could be resized at a later date, it would have to be done by someone editing the image. But there is nothing in our log files to suggest any of the images have been edited.
I will still have the original images on my computer somewhere, I will try and find them to see, but I always scan at either 600 or 1200 dpi and reduce to the max of 800 and adjust the size to as close to 250k as possible
I couldn't find original scans so re-scanned the album. The labels and inner right panel scanned at 1200dpi to capture as much detail as possible the other three sleeve panels scanned at 600dpi

And the good captain's images are 'green lighted' so that absolves the 'images needing editing' list and a mod gone rogue
