I just noticed some TV movies being added to the TV world. Aren't they supposed to go to the Movies world? I thought TV was for TV series'.

TV World is for all things TV which includes Series, TV Movies, Documentaries, Docu-Dramas and one off specials. TV Movies don't fit in Cinema World because they've never been screened at a Cinema. I had already discussed this with Dr Doom back in October 2016 when he assured me that they were working on the wording of the new sub-categories

Actually quite a few Tv-movies played in theatres. Spielberg's Duel one famous example. Some TV-movies played in theatres in foreign territories like for example Wes Craven's Stranger In Our House aka Summer Of Fear.

In that case they should be entered into Cinema World

Then do we need a new world for direct-to-video films? And maybe a world for films that play the festival circuit but not actual theatres? There's probably some other categories I'm forgetting, but this all seems to be seriously splitting hairs, if you ask me. Never seen a movie database that excludes films that didn't run in movie houses.

Also, there are quite a number of TV movies that had theatrical runs besides the ones already mentioned here.

Some TV films were recut for cinema release, including Duel, for which more was shot to extend it. Also the 1979 two-parter Salem's Lot, which had some scenes substituted with more 'gore' and others cut to make the movie.

Hmm.. in the case of the film "Duel", it seems to me that it would belong in both.. as a TV movie (which it was as first), and in cinema..
