Howdy, a newbie here from Filmogs just looking to get a rough lay of the land.
Looking through some films from what I've seen it seems you follow the naming formats of IMDb, not an issue just wanted to check if that was the intent, we had very heated arguments over on Filmogs especally regarding Chinese credits where IMDb openly formats their names in a different order for some and not others. Not looking to start that argument here, especally as I was very much anti IMDb, just wanted to check.
Secondly when it comes to credits known under multiple names is the logic to have one page with all their credits or seperate pages under their different aliases, asking simply because I noticed that with Sammo Hung

Thirdly apoligies for the inconvenience but I accidently created a film I later found under one of it's other English names, guess that's the problem with films under multiple names, I'm assuming the same with credits it would be bestto double check names listed on IMDb first before creating.
Also if possible could this deplicate be removed.

let by 'make correction' know if dual names (aka's or similar) are needed we go by what is on the clear printed publicity, but appearances of same artist under different names can be linked together if mod team are made aware of.
when searching its probably easiest to use the shortest names.
I think we like english names where possible, with local names as additions .
The idea is not to replicate imdb, more as a fan thing to add the things you have seen (or worked on !) at the movies , rental, telly or whatever

On your second point, we can link all a person's name variations under a single name. I've done this as a demo:
If you look at Sammo Kam-Bo Hung you'll see both names listed, and if you look at Sammo Hung it tells you to look at Sammo Kam-Bo Hung with a link.

We've had some problems with Western/Non-Western credits.
It's something we're hoping to post more on soon
But for now please use 'Western' or English language names wherever possible
We will be working on something to add other names (including of course their native languages) similar to the way extra titles can be added as additional information.
One difference from imdb is that they choose one 'official' name for each person and then add as...
i.e.
Joe D'Amato as Alexandre Borsky
Whereas we would credit Alexandre Borsky as Director and then add it as a pseudonym for Joe D'amato
So a Joe D'Amato filmography includes alternate names
I get the logic of their name in English, what I meant was formatting their names, by that I mean a lot of Asian names tend to be in a family name/first name format, for example Smith John, that's how the name would be translated, however with IMDb, they both translate and then correct it to the western name format of first name/family name.
But if you have plans of some kind of alias system then that doesn't really matter, that was one of the big things we were trying to get over on Filmogs that kept getting ignored.
My plan here would mostly be putting my DVD's/Blu-rays up and only popping out to Cinema/TV to add pages that would link to them, which leads me into two areas I'm not sure if their covered by Cinema or TV, sporting events and stand up comedy specials/shows. I would technically consider them films over TV but would totally understand why they are not viable for the Cinema section. Basicallythe large part of my DVD/Blu-ray collection is Doctor Who and wrestling, Doctor Who already had some stuff up, wrestling has nothing so just looking what's best, if anything i'll just not bother trying to link them with anything.

The quick demo I did for Sammo Kam-Bo Hung can be extended with any variations like eg. 'Hung Sammo'.
But we do rely on members submitting an entry to help us, as many of us moderators aren't experts on particular worlds, so if you did add a 'Hung Sammo' film to Cinema you should click on 'Make Correction' at the bottom of the film's page and send us a message along the lines of 'link Hung Sammo to Sammo Kam-Bo Hung'.
There are around 100 volunteer moderators working across all the worlds, and we try to be helpful

Generally speaking things should only be added to Cinema World if they were theatrically released (I'm talking pre-Netflix/streaming here - That's another complication!)
Exceptions being films that were intended for cinema but were pulled (lost films, straight to video etc.) and TV Movies.
For Wrestling DVDs I think the DVD entry on it's own is fine. I'm not an expert but I think a lot of these were DVD only? (i.e. not shown in cinemas or broadcast on TV - in that form at least)
Stand Up is trickier especially in the era of Netflix but generally speaking if it was broadcast on TV then it should be added to Television World and for the rare stand up shows that make it to Cinema they can be added there.
Again, if it's straight to DVD then that's fine on it's own.
Hope that makes sense!
There re of course many things that don't quite fit in a box but they can always be discussed first on the forums to get a consensus.

Depends on your definition of broadcast for TV, for the most part wrestling shows tended to have been broadcast through PPV services through TV providers.
For stand up I'd argue their more straight to video performances that get broadcast after being release on DVD.
But from the sounds of it it sounds like there is nothing covered to link to so just leave them free.

Is there a reason why it should not have been created? Surely not due to copyright as I suspect it's no different to the copyright on CDs/Vinyl/DVDs etc?

If you check the first post in this thread, you can see it's because there is plans to start one on comics.

Yes, however I believe that was the intention prior to when the Comic world was created which was a LONG time ago and yet.... still no comic world here on 45 Worlds, so as far as I'm concerned the one on 45 Spaces should have been left open until the one here on 45 Worlds actually is created.... if ever!
