Does anyone know of any prog albums from before March of `72 that had at least one song that filled an entire side, or no more than 2 songs on a side?
The only ones I can think of are "Atom Heart Mother" by Pink Floyd, "Cirkus" by King Crimson and "Tarkus" by ELP. I haven't checked The Nice or Genesis, yet but have checked Yes, Mike Oldfield and one other band whose name I can't recall. "Thick As A Brick" was my starting point. I'm trying to find any that came out before that.

Golden Earring:- Eight Miles High from 1969

Not at the top of this page. Just the search bar and the search button. I type in what what I'm searching for, hit the button and it takes me to a screen with LOTS of other records and another search box. This one HAS a menu, but it doesn't have anything I need to narrow my search, only a list of the possible places I can go (pages for 78's, CD's, tapes, magazines, jukebox strips, etc.).

This forum page is cross-worlds ... you'd have to go to the particular world to get the pertinent drop down menus.

Thanks! Forgot about that one but I haven't heard it since the mid `80's, either. Is it actually prog? I never knew GE to be prog.

For me, anybody that can take a Folk/Rock song and turn it into something totally different full of Improv has to be near the very beginings of what eventually became Prog
