| Free OCLC look up being discontinued in January? |

 | 23skidoo Member since Jul 2014 4061 Points | Head to this page linked to whenever you index a book where you're asked to look up the DDC classification number to see a new message: https://classify.oclc.org/classify2/. Apparently as of January the service is only going to be open for people who subscribe to WorldCat and "Classify" is being discontinued. Do the 45worlds folks have a back up source? |

| 23skidoo Member since Jul 2014 4061 Points | No one seems too interested in this topic, but as of today (Feb 1), the OCLC lookup is no longer available (dead link). Is this aspect of the World being abandoned now or is there another online source for looking these up? |

 | Orbiting Cat Member since Jan 2008 1168 Points Administrator | There's not much we can do here. They've discontinued the free lookup system so I've removed the link. I've kept the explanation in the guide that Class Numbers are a free open-source alternative to Dewey Decimal whilst being 100% compatible with it. |

Has anyone managed to do this yet? |
