Because there are at least 4 distinct Spike Jones 'groups' I think that anything with a label credit of Spike Jones and his City Slickers should be listed as such and not jsut as Spike Jones. The 3 other incarnations Spike Jones and his Other Orchestra, and Spike Jones and his Country Cousins, and Spike Jones without his Orchestra (who released What is a DJ on Australian HMV E.A.4178), should be distinct. A unifying entry of just Spike Jones for all four should be then created.

Better but I still think that:
Spike Jones And His Country Cousins
Spike Jones And His Other Orchestra
Spike Jones Without His Orchestra
should be listed as distinct items even at the level of the individual records rather than with a bit in the notes as "And His Country Cousins". These are separate entities and the labels show them as such. So the records should be corrected to reflect what is actually on the labels
I know I'm being a pain about this but I feel it is more accurate

Certainly it looks like Spike was as confused as we are with the use of Band Leader Nameand Orchester/ Quintet / Whatever on many other records, hence the great use ( presumably much fewer issued under the other names ) of sub-names.
More than one or maybe two different Spike Jones is just the opposite of what was meant and told from the beginning.
I was for what's on the label, but it will not look very nice to have a mix of these two ways to write an artist.
