Isn't the correct term for this format Cassingle? Also is there a limit to the number of tracks before it becomes a cassette, I seem to recall some were not eligible for single chart inclusion because there was to many. I've got some NME freebies with 4 & 5 tracks
Many referred to 'em as "cassingles", Poohbear, but I always thought it a horrible word. Mind you, I always thought it a pretty nasty format, too - especially in the '90s when so many were issued in preference to the good old 7".
As far as the number of tracks goes, I think the template of up to eight here is astute. The only release ever to hit the UK singles chart available solely on tape was Bow Wow Wow's "Your Cassette Pet" 'EP', which itself had eight tracks.
I have an NME tape from 86 called Pogo-A-Gogo,a collection of punk singles. There are 9 tracks on side 1 , and 10 on side 2.It was released on cd but did not include all the tracks, the ones by the Pistol's and the Clash are only available on this cassette, should i upload it?,or wait for cassette album world:(
