Maybe it's an option to have a format 3". You can't see it on the scans how big something is.
We have several types of jewel cases used for regular issues:
1. the "normal" old fashioned ones
2. slim jewel cases (most with the notorious tag)
3. cardboard sleeves
4. digipacks
Is it an option to categorize these or do we type this every time in the notes.
It would be nice to have a drop down menu option to enter the packaging type, maybe with an example somewhere for reference.
This would bring the naming in line.
For example: I know slimline jewel cases as two piece boxes.
Some people say jewel box, some jewel case. Digipack > Digipak and so on.

I think having scans means that we shouldn't have to mention the packaging all that often unless it's something unusual.
It's always hard to get a balance of having enough useful disc/vinyl types vs having too many so that people get confused (and possibly put off) entering their own CDs into the database.
It sounds cheeky but I think most people aren't too interested in whether a jewel case is slim or wide.
Once again a balance between discogs style mega-detail vs the average music fan
A CDV is a Compact Disc Video - a strange hybrid of a CD single and laserdisc from the late eighties. The inside of the disc plays up to 20 minutes of music and the outside usually has one video clip which can only be played on a laserdisc player. The CD bit can be played on any CD player.
(Not to be confused with a VCD which is a Video Compact Disc - which contains just over an hour of low quality video and audio. These are from the nineties but still popular in some Asian countries).
I have a few 3" on 5" discs from the late eighties, not 3" in the 5" adaptor, but 5" discs with a space around the 3". I think there were quite a few issued so it might be worth including a 3"on 5" option.
